Liverpool at home in 2017 is the absolutely first that springs to mind, since that's one of his best games ever IMO.
As for assists, it's an obvious indicator of someone who creates chances for teammates. Some passes that create chances will be two yard passes, other will be perfectly weighted through balls. Alli does both quite frequently.
I agree the game was one of his better games but the whole team played well and I wouldn't say his performance stood out.
He does play a nice through ball but that is one every two games. I actually think there is a place in the squad for him, I don't think the team should be built around him and he should not be guaranteed his place.
