This is a good example of the challenges faced by a young player.

He burst onto the scene and appeared to have huge potential.

He got injured then seemed to get recurring injuries. Dealing with the time given to injuries is a challenge to many sportsmen.

He is also being given opportunities to get into other ventures. While injured this doesn't seem a problem but any night out or time spent on anything else when underperforming can be seen as not focusing on the game.

I don't like to write people off based on little stories and outside information.

I just hope he gets back to fitness and starts performing again.

What I mentioned the other week.

He needs to get himself on a whole foods plant based diet if he wants to see his body recover faster.

It is interesting how badly informed the majority of premiership footballers are regarding diet and nutrition when it plays such a huge part in the maintenance and energy delivery of their/to their body.

Glad to see he's at least scaling back the outside of football commitments and if he's serious about getting himself back to his best then for sure he needs to start playing just off Kane.

I agree, needs to get onto the basics again; look after himself professionally. He's not got a bad attitude per se like Maddison and god forbid a pundit said he was like Berahino; absolutely disgusting laziness in his assumption. Dele just has a lot of non footballing irons in the fire as he is marketable and wants to make a living not just off footy. If you look at where he's come from you would understand why.

Lets be real, he hasn't been at it for years now. His general play was never world class but he made up with it with game winning goals and assists, that dried up a while ago and what we're left with is a player who takes an age on the ball and looks lost defensively.

If he can get back to scoring and creating goals I'll happily ignore his shortcomings but for the last 2+ years he's not been at the races for reasons in and out of his control .

He’s a bit of a luxury player, which isn’t meant negatively. He’s capable of the sublime, but can also disappear.

He was good in the 4231 with Dier, but I’ve been less impressed since he moved further forward. He still has an incredible goals/assists record for his age, but he often feels like a square peg in a round hole.

It seems odd that he would need to hire his own nutritionist. You would think the club would manage this.

Harry Kane had his own chef. No idea if he still does.

If Dele can’t cook and lives alone then it would make sense to have someone to plan his meals. They get everything else done for them after all.

Thought he had a gf who would do the cooking for him?

I'm suprised no-one has commented on him these last two games. He wasn't great against Watford but still got the goal.

Last night he was looking more like his usual self and probably should've had a goal and assist. Definitely got quieter after being moved out to the wing, but in the midfield three he was great.

I thought he was alright vs Watford, he was trying to give and goes with Moura and obviously they didn't come off but I was encouraged by the performance, I think Dele just needs to be given a run of games to get back into consistency and we just need to show him love.

How many games has he played this season? What is wrong with people. Has Alli completed 90 mins?

once he gets the rust off, he's due for a massive output, looks like he's got his appetite for the game back.

He's indicative of us though, he looked good yesterday when there was space ahead of him to run into and the ball was passed between the lines, but when there were/are banks of defenders he still looks leggy and slow to do anything.

Still it was good to see him driving forward when given the opportunity.

He's exactly the player we need when Ndombele and Lo Celso get going. If we can get those 3 singing from the same hymn sheet they'll be a proper handful.

Dele Alli and Kane to an extent are measured to extreme standards . No matter the pressing or assists Dele makes the distances he covers if he doesn't score a goal Dele hand a bad/poor game.

I will put my mortgage on him playing for another mid table club within two years.

I have never rated him and many times described him on these boards as a more skilful Tim Cahill.....I must now write an apology to Tim and his family and ask them for forgiveness.

Southgate has seen what he is.
