Always liked Jermain and will always see him as one of our players. I was tempted to start a thread in the loan watch thread to keep an eye on him and see how he's getting on but I didn't think it would go down to well with the Spanish Inquisition on here.

2 league goals in three appearances for Sunderland and an assist for the free kick against us isn't bad going. If we could of swapped Ade for him I definitely would of.

Has anyone else been keeping tabs on him?

Edit: This is not a "I want Defoe back in the squad thread. More a nice to keep tabs on our all time top scorer in Europe thread."

Summed it up for me on MoTD when he was talking about his goal. He said something like "I brought the ball forwards and had a look around for my team mates. I could have gone for the pass left but decided to have a go myself".

Sums him up. It's always been the same, too greedy on the ball - granted he scored for them, but he used to waste too many chances for us.

I like him and always will. He was annoying at times but scored some brilliant goals for us. His longevity in PL terms is impressive too considering how long he has been banging them in for.

He was always a level below top class but make no doubt about it Sunderland have got a player who will score double figures in the league which is invaluable at their level.

I'll always have time for JD, he's one of us. Sure he's not the best in the world like young Harry but he's one of the good guys.

This is exactly the sentiment I was expecting surprised by the negativity. This thread wasn't meant as I'd rather have Defoe than Ade, it was more a nod to the little man and the fact he is still delivering...
