Antonio Conte says he could be Tottenham’s answer to Jurgen Klopp but has warned the club must "spend a lot of money or hope for a miracle" to compete with Liverpool.
In the strongest indication yet that he may be prepared to commit to Spurs long-term, Conte said Klopp’s Liverpool were a "good example" to follow and suggested he would sign a new contract if he was sure he would be backed in the same way as the German at Anfield.

These are pretty good quotes to hear from him.

“If you want to create something important you need time and you need patience, especially if you start working with a team that starts behind the top positions. It is not easy.

“In these seven months, we did a really good job with the club and in January signed two good players to improve the quality of the team.

“We did a good job but for sure you need time. Liverpool is a clear example. "They struggled at the start of Klopp’s path to qualify for the Champions League. Maybe they needed four years before they started to win.

To be honest as I’ve already posted, I can’t see why we can’t back him as that was whole point of building our massive stadium.

To greatly increase match day revenue.

And also we are holding a number of other sporting and musical events there (I think Lady Gaga will be performing there ?? … don’t judge me… ??).

We also have some of the best training facilities and to be honest if we can get the 6 or so signings needed, each subsequent year would just need smaller additions if we actually manage the squad properly and properly review it each year.

He knows there could be a dynasty created and out of all of his achievements if he can get us winning things it’d be the biggest thing on his cv.
Everything is now in place, from the stadium income from multiple sources to the training facilities and now a world class manager.
If ENIC want to be taken seriously on the pitch then this summer needs to be the one where we make some serious additions to the squad.
If Conte is still here in five seasons time we know we’ll be sitting pretty, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to compete with the supposed best in the PL now.

Big investment required for Antonio to stay, I wonder what the outcome will be :cautious:
He will be backed just like he was in January with two astute good value signings.
We are way way further advanced now that Liverpool were 6 months into Klopp's reign and Conte isn't stupid he will know that there is a good platform to build on with this squad.

If we add 5 signings of Kulu/Bentancur quality this summer we could be right up there next season, we've seen the kind of run of winning games we've been on for phases this season and that is with a squad with some serious weaknesses, give Conte 5 more to work with to what we have and we will have the depth and quality to be very consistent.

Don't forget that in Son & Kane we have two of the top 5 attacking players in the league!
We have a World Class GK, Romero is top class, Bentancur is quality and Kulusevski since he joined has more assists than any other player I believe so we have the makings of a brilliant spine, add : 2 wing backs, an upgrade CB on Davies, an upgrade CM on PEH and another attacking option or 2 then we'd have as good as squad as any bar Man City imo.

I’m glad Conte is pressuring Levy. We need to add more quality to the squad or we’ll get nowhere.

we do spend money, just on some frauds who pretend they are professional footballers or have no interest in playing for us

We need some top players to compete but we also need much better options off the bench. By my reckoning we have at least 11 players who can either go or be used for squad depth in some cases. Gollini, Emerson, Sanchez, CCV, Reggie, GLC, Ndombele, Winks, Clarke, Lucas, Bergwijn. I'd personally keep Rodon but would understand if he wanted out. Those sort of changes can't happen in one window obviously, but we should try to put a big dent in it.
