Improves the squad though. He’s an upgrade on skipp and hojberg and allows us to move them on.
If are options next season are
Biss/Gallagher
Benta/sarr
Madds/Gio
That is incredibly strong
Can’t see Gallagher as a 6. Either that will be Bentancur competing with Bissouma or we need a 6 in the summer.

Id switch them around yes, Gallagher 8 option, Bentancur 6 (though he can play 8 too).
6 need to be press resistant and excellent on the ball, we don't play with a traditional defensive midfielder.

Quite an expensive squad option though, I'm sure there's better value to be had elsewhere.
If we can get him early and for a reasonable price, fair enough but if it's going to drag on and cost nearer 50m, I'd rather go elsewhere.

Yeah I agree, I think Bentancur will be the starting 6 when all are fit.

I don’t think it’s about him being world class or people thinking his rubbish. Personally think it’s all about the squad and long term picture, regardless of what any of us think he’s a very good player or he just wouldn’t be playing premier league football at decent level, he young, he’s home grown, got a brilliant engine on ,he’s a nightmare against every team he plays against, he will improve the squad but most importantly Ange believes and wants the player and his input not shabby so far. I personally think he’s not a bad by any standards would buy him no, but then like 99.9% of us on here are not and will be managers let alone premier league managers .At the moment enjoying the football, happy to bea spurs fan and have faith in Ange’s and club choices, So happy new year everyone and coys 😁.

I've always liked him and last year thought he would be surplus at Chelsea this year, so would of been a good option in the summer.

The cynic in me now, seeing as he is now their captain, makes me think we are being used to get him a new big contract.

I now think Calvin Phillips on loan might be a good option for us. It solves our problems short term. Gets him game time and puts him in the shop window.

For £40mil I’d love him, would suit Ange's style of football perfectly, is versatile and knows the league, is an upgrade on PEH & Skipp and would be another homegrown option.

Would have been nice but the fact football accounts are suddenly pumping out his stats makes me think that, yet again, this is just an agent working on a new contract etc. He's much better than some on here think though.

I honestly don't see Gio Lo Celso being around much longer, I reckon we're looking to replace him come the summer so Gallagher's flexibility would be very beneficial.

I really do hope that when your dad told you to a chelsea fan, you replied in the right way…

Hes a sound lad who wouldn't push that lot on me. He let me make my own mistakes but I can't lie, in those peak Abramovich years I did have some dark, troubling thoughts but only a few times..... I'm over that now I promise

I see that as the most likely outcome. He’s been one of their best players, and is 23 and will only get better.

Can you imagine how the opposite would feel, and we sold them a genuinely good academy product.

Unless they absolutely, 100% have to, I can’t see it. Would be very damaging to them.

True but just about everything they’ve done since Boehly took over has been damaging to them

Also worth noting Chelsea fans would be fuming if this went through, which is always a good sign.

They are not happy about talk of selling him on The Shed End but the fact its to us really is a knife in their back. For this reason alone I really hope it happens.

I really like Gallagher, but if we can get Phillips on loan with an option instead, that imo would be more sensible and allow us to use our funds to bring in the required quality in the priority positions we need to recruit in.
