We are disgusted at the racist messages directed towards Destiny Udogie on social media following Saturday’s game against Liverpool. We will work with the Premier League and, where possible, take action against any individual we are able to identify.

We stand with you, Destiny.

It doesn't sit comfortably with me that his name is put in the headline. Or if they even need to make this an official statement. Puts the lad more in the limelight in a way that might make him feel even worse. I get it's well-intentioned but it probably has the opposite effect.

Honestly I think it’s partly to counter that utter absurdity that is the Liverpool statement, I don’t want it to be a distraction for destiny but I’m sure it won’t be. I reckon he knew dickheads existed before this

Sits even more uncomfortable for me that people do it. It needs to be highlighted to stop people thinking this is ok.

If they don't do something, it will happen at the next time, and the next one and so on.

I think it's standard procedure so they'd have done it anyway. He knew dick heads existed but it's a shit feeling to be a news story for these reasons.

Goes without saying, but the guy that did this wanted a rise and now he's got a bigger one. We should be doing all we can to prosecute the person responsible. Maybe I'm being a bit pernickety but just think the headline should be 'Response to racist abuse' rather than 'Destiny Udogie'. As a POC myself I'd prefer that, but I don't speak for anyone else I guess.

I love football and Spurs but when you see things like this and the truly sick stuff re Bradley Lowery at the weekend it does make you realise that some of the lowest forms of life on earth inhabit the game at its fringes.
