Club. Most international competitions my main desire is that Spurs players come home early and injury free. I rarely even bother watching England if there are no Spurs or ex-Spurs in the line up. And I detest the ridiculous OTT hype and excuses made tournament after tournament.

I started going off of international games with the direction they went during the Sven era when he turned the players into superstars and instilled the mindset that they were bigger than the team. Since then it has only got worse in my opinion (signs of change with the current squad) and players seem to treat it like a holiday with a couple of games.

When the players rebelled against Capello because they were being made to focus on football and not allowed to go party it was the last straw for me. Losing every game, the players had NOTHING to celebrate and not one of them should ever have worn an England shirt again. France had similar issues and took that stance, rebuilding from the ground up with players that wanted to win for their country and won a world cup and a Euro cup from it while England won nothing with the same players.

Since Sven and until this current tournament, there has been little to no passion or pride visible in the players when they put on an England shirt. Sights like Gazza crying, Butcher playing on with his shirt turned pink from blood etc.

100% club for me unless England continue reversing the years of not caring. They are on the right path finally but not yet there imo

Well, let's see... my country can't even beat the likes of Barbados and El Salvador as of late, so call me crazy but I think I'm definitely gonna go with club just for this time at least.

I like both to be fair. I dont have many spurs supporting friends/family. Only me and my dad. So when I get to celebrate or grieve with others its a nice feeling being in a house or pub full of people supporting the same cause.
It'd be different if I could get to games etc, but not being able to afford to and living in Manchester makes it very difficult.

Just to add to my previous point (and we actually touched on this in Episode 1 of my new podcast, check out my thread on launching a podcast ;) ) but in 2018 when the core of the England side was Spurs I couldn't help but find myself getting swept along by World Cup fever. Now that it's just Harry in the squad it doesn't feel as right to be so invested.

I was equal but with the racism and the barbaric behaviour of England 'fans' I just can't get behind it anymore, I'll be following but I can't offer my support for the national team because it's very hard to offer support to a country you're not feel welcome in and ashamed of.

Can i just ask is this as a direct result of the disgraceful scenes and actions after Sunday because less than a week ago you were adamant that we shouldnt let the actions of the minority tar the image of the majority? Not trying to bait you at all just a genuine question thats all. Are you now saying that the minority is alot bigger than you previously thought or is it the direct racism that has tipped you?

At the moment it is still club - by someway too. However this current crop of England players has really grown on me.

In the past it has felt very conflicting supporting England, especially when the team had dodgy characters like John Terry or Frank Lampard or more or less celebrities like David Beckham. The team now looks to be full of genuine nice young lads - a lot of whom are from working class backgrounds.

A good example is that I can look past something like Kyle Walker's sex parties during lockdown more than I can ignore someone as despicable as John Terry.

I think Spurs will always mean more to me than England does as I feel I relate more with my area than my country. However, I definitely support this current England team more than previous national squads.

Always the club for me. It's great living in Italy because everyone assumes I support my country and they are right to do so but when anyone asks me which club I support and I say "Spurs" their faces are a picture and I know instantly what's coming next...... Why ?
I have my Father to thank for that (y)

I'm saying the behaviour as well as the racist abuse of black footballers which obviously me being black really hit home.

The actions last week against Denmark was a minority of people booing and some reported minor skirmishes, from what I'm hearing about during and after the Italy game has really left a sour taste in my mouth.

Up until Euro 2020 I wouldn't have hesitated at Club. Now its as closer thing, so proud of all of them, from not buckling to the pressure to halt their anti racism protest to the way they all pulled together to try and get us all that trophy. All the egos and club before country crap of previous England teams has been left at the door. If Southgate could just be a bit more progressive and take a risk sooner I honestly think we could win the WC next year.

Prepare for the bad ratings, but I'd prefer England to win the world cup than Spurs to win the league. Just think it'd bring the whole country together and would be awesome - think 2012 Olympics.

This England team really reminds me of the peak Poch years when we had a lot of young players playing their hearts out whilst having a really likeable guy in charge. There is nothing to not like about them. Still club though.

Both England and spurs are very similar for me as both have those odd moments of potential, but in the end it leads to nothing from the success front which is a shame

With the shameful racism that is never far away from England I personally find it hard to have any connectiom to the England team. I'll watch it, I'll want them to win, but do I care? Not at all.

I find the concept of nationalism distasteful and frankly ridiculous! What does it actually mean?

I also find it hard to support players from Arsenal, Chelsea etc

So no competition, spurs all day, every day.

But on this basis is it not a bit strange to support Tottenham? By supporting Tottenham, what are you actually supporting?

Your first sentence doesn't make any sense.

By supporting Tottenham what do you think you are supporting?

Your local team? Maybe for some but not for most.

A team that plays good football? That's something some tell themselves but it isn't reality.
