He played in a 3-4-3 for most of the season in our best season in my living memory. Where we went undefeated all season at home in the last year at White Hart Lane and finished second. But he couldn't possibly play in that system could he. Some people have short memories.
He played as one of the inside forwards, I can’t see him displacing Son or Kulu in our 3-4-3, Conte at Inter used him in a 3-5-2 deep lying playmaker role, I don’t think Conte sees him as a n.10/inside forward like he was in Pochs system.

Also Poch’s 3-4-3 was different to Contes, Eriksen had license to go deep and almost have a free role, Contes is a bit more ridgid.

But Eriksen is a phenomenal player one of my favourite ever so if he’s keen to come back and Conte is keen to have him back then it’s a no brainer on a free, get it done and let he and Conte worry about where he’d play and in which formation.

I can’t believe we are actually having discussions about whether or not Eriksen can play in a conte system

Agreed. Even if hadn’t won a title playing for Conte before it’s still ridiculous to suggest a player with his level of technical excellence and intelligence couldn’t adapt to any system

100% we should bring him back. Excellent squad player to have and gives us an extra option from the bench when he doesn’t start, especially if we are in the CL next season. also the fact he’s a no nonsense type of player. Gets his head down and just loves the game.

Not can, where.
It’s all part of the same debate though isn’t it?
People saying ‘I don’t think he’d replace kulusevski’- well obviously he wouldt be brought in to outright bench him- he’d rotate.
Even weirder are those suggesting he’d play in a midfield two - he’s never done that and is unlikely to ever do so. He’s only ever played centre midfield in a three.
Let’s just be clear. If Eriksen rejoined us, it would work under conte because we would change from the current 343 to a 352 (with Eriksen cam).
It’s not about shoehorning him into the current setup or formation. It would change to fit him in. How do we know this? It happened last season at inter

Honestly I don’t know why this is so hard for people to get their heads round

You’re points are pretty much spot on but not sure why it’s something you need to get so annoyed about that some others done get it lol.

I get it and explained the same tactical outline but not everyone watched Conte’s Inter and Eriksen in that etc ?‍♂️ Chillax

Absolutely sign him if he wants to come back, I think Eriksen is way more ambitious than to simply stay at Brentford just because they chose to sign him for 6 months, it was a deal that suited both teams because Brentford are never getting a player of that quality without some mitigating circumstance. I think Eriksen has proved his point and maybe he fancies trying to win something at the club he spent majority of his career knowing the man now running the show makes it very likely.

If we sign Eriksen, whether he starts or is on the bench, suddenly with that addition we will have some actual real depth on the bench.

And i reckon he would love to be back despite his previous with Levy

Eriksen was not a Conte signing. I think his time at Inter under Conte was very much characterized by Conte trying to utilize him in his system and Eriksen adapting to that system. As a top professional player and a world class coach they could of course make things work, but my guess is that none of the two found the situation optimal. Conte needed his playmaker to get stuck in, while Eriksen probably feels more suited in a more free attacking role like he plays for the NT and did under Poch.

They could probably make things work again, but the question is if there aren’t better opportunities for both parties?

BTW, I would be very suprised if he stayed at Brentford. Thomas Frank is very close with the national coach in Denmark, and my guess is that Eriksen is primarily playing there to ensure participation in Quatar and that he knew he would have an easier time getting playtime there. If he continues his current level, he will be off this summer to a bigger club. Do anyone know if he can play in spain?
