A quick visit to a Brentford forum and seeing this confirms they are after a different Christian Eriksen.

"Could be worth 10-15 goals courtesy of corners that beat the first man alone…"

If he beats the first man 10 times in a whole season it's better than his corner output was with us.

The corner thing always struck me as weird. It's as if he was being told to bang them in low at the front post regardless of outcome for about two years. Struggle to believe that he was so poor at them given he was a good FK taker as it's not like it's a dissimilar skill.

And instead have setpieces that don't beat the first man.
We were reported as having the highest conversion rate from corners in two consecutive seasons under Poch - while SC was busy complaining that we never beat the first man. I can't find proof of the stats atm, but believe I've posted it multiple times in the past.

A lot of teams lofted a ball high into the box in the hop that one of their players would be first to the ball on the minority of occasions. We were attempting to pick out a specific player with pre-planned runs to draw defenders away. Although we did hit the first man more often than most teams, we created a chance almost every time we cleared the first man - rather than aimlessly hoofing the ball in and watching our players arrive a split second after the defender 99% of the time.

The rhetoric is equivalent to criticising Andy Roddick for having a few more service errors than his opponents, while ignoring that he has 2-3 times as many aces.

Sometimes you just don't realize what you had until it's gone. 51 goals and 62 assists in 226 PL appearances for us from midfield says it all. Eriksen was the everpresent engine and can opener in those amazing seasons when we were one of the very best sides in the PL. We just weren't as good without him and haven't been since. He may never reach the same level again, but he could and he is free. Bring him home, please. Those of you who mostly remember his less impressive displays in his last 18 months (and the poor corners) might want to watch this :)

Would be gutted if we don't bring him back now. Seems like a no brainer for both him and us and if he is fit and 100% then we'd be getting an amazing player that knows both Spurs and the Conte system.

Todays Athletic Football show pod has Jay Harris their Brentford guy on taking about his exclusive story that they have offered him a 6 month contract (with option of extra year).

Haven't got sub so can't get the story.

The goal at 3:35 was so intelligent, such as class player I miss him.

The one thing we have lacked since he left is a midfielder who can drop back and dictate the game, instead its drop back, panic, lose possession and restart. Used to be a joy watching him come deep, demand the ball and get us up field. Allowed Kane to stay forward, Kane is probably the only player in the squad that attempts similar to what Eriken used to do for us but that leaves a huge gap up front then.
