Get your head out the sand. Kanes been piss poor this euros. I suspect because he's knackered. One of the best strikers in Europe doesn't look like that so far.

He's also playing in a different system to what he's used to. Internationals aren't much good for judging players ability against playing in the same team and system week in, week out. Embolo has produced nothing either but it doesn't make him a bad player.

Our team is based on a system, squad unity and young, fit and malleable players.

Let West Ham go down the bad old Spursy route of random B-rate chequebook signings, and let us continue to pick up lower profile gems like Dier, Alli, Wimmer and Janssen.

Sometimes its about balance though while most of us are happy to take a punt on an emerging talent, it has to be offset with reliability and experience.
What i wouldnt want to see is us allow a two bob flea ridden club like West ham to get too close or worse overtaken us because we werent competitive, im not saying they will or we are not just that it cannot happen.
The purchase of wanyama is a signing of a decent level of experience but with plenty of scope for improvement, and like us not a million miles away from great potential.

You're a fickle fellow aren't you! HK has played less than 4 halves of footy in the Euro's so far...maybe we should sell him, as he's clearly washed up now.
Where have I said we should sell him

i did not say he was washed up and we should sell him.. I am saying he needs competition and support in the form of additional strikers. He looks like he is running with weights on his feet does not look like the Harry Kane we all know..He also seems to be doing so much pressing as a lone striker that he has no energy to be a threat so not sure what Hodgson is telling him.

Leave him alone - Harry'll be aright. He's played a couple of behind closed doors games this week against Morrisons and Sainsburys in order to prepare himself for Iceland.....

Hhmm, now reading on Twitter that Spurs aren't willing to pay either the £31m fee nor the 100k wages. Saw that on Hotspur Related mind you so no idea where he's sourcing that from.

Suggestion is that we want Janssen and Sanabria now instead.

I'd be gutted if we dont push this deal through now but equally understand if we decide to go for 2 players for less money than the 1. All players carry a risk but reality is that Batman is a big risk at £31m, compared with VJ and AS for around 24m combined.

He got that from the Mirror article.

I have not seen enough of any of these players to make a judgement. All I can say is that I am glad we have options in pipeline. It seems Michy was/is first choice but we hope/d that OM would reduce the price and in the eventually that it didn't work out, we lined up Janssen and/or Sanabria. In the past, we had one option on deadline day and if he didn't materalise, that was that. This seems strategically planned. I will reverse judgement until Sept 1st!

"Why is #OM looking for €40m+ for Batshuayi? To get as much from the fee as possible after Standard Liege take a 35% cut on profit. Only way to negate that is to sell Batshuayi with another player in one deal, and remain ambiguous as to who is worth what."

Told that West Ham bid for Marseille's Michy Batshuayi still under consideration. Currently stands at €35m plus significant add-ons #whufc

Ok looks like it's gone if true... (I retract my last statement)

Not worried about West Ham, there's no way that MB goes to a team outside of the CL in my opinion.

What if no one else is prepared to meet their valuation? I think if we all just assume West Ham wont sign anyone decent we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. Money talks.

He wouldn't be the first player to join a "tin pot amateur" outfit in order to place himself in the shop window...in order to attract a big club..
