Grew up a Spurs fan I think, didn't he? 18 goals playing for that shite, I'd take him, we need as many goalscorers as we can get!!!

A non-news-article built on a half of a throwaway sentence from Chris Ramsey. Not a peep from Austin himself.

I am not convinced by him. You don't get to 26 years old as a striker without being noticed if you are very good.

At the right price he would provide useful cover for Kane, but I think we need one more real quality striker. Too much is expected of Kane

Ade and Soldado out, berahino and Austin in? It would give us a little of everything. Kane against the top half of the league, berahino offering pace and flair on the counter attack and Austin giving us some muscle and guile. Would be interested to see how that worked out for us.

Solid signing if we get him. Knows the league, knows the club and knows where the back of the net is.

I don't remember him being a Spurs fan when he was young...could be mistaken though...

Am told by someone on the inside at QPR that he has a brilliant work ethic and attitude, and is a smashing bloke too. I'd have him all day long, he'd definitely fit in at our place.
he's a MILLION times better than Adebayor in terms of application and desire
Please sign him.

I would say that in isolation Austin is a more complete striker than but in partnership with Kane I suspect Berahino would produce the better strike force.

Would he leave first team football at QPR to come sit on our bench? He would be mad to

Err, yes I think he would.

Leave a Champrionship team that had massive internal issues to join a top half PL team with solid team spirit that he reportedly supported as a boy. If I was in his shoes I'd be on my agents phone daily asking why the hell hasn't it happened yet.

With that many goals last season between him and Kane, it would be effing fantastic...like back in the day when we had Teddy and Klinsman at the same time.

Just slightly concerned if one of the top 4 swoop in with a big-time offer. Althlough with him being 26 may actually be in our favour as this may keep those guys at arms length.

Still, this is probably BS.... I'm wondering why we haven't heard anything about this before now if it was on the cards. Unless we really are waiting for Soldudo or Ade to go first before making a move. In which case, it could be very lastminute.com

Austin isn't going top come to Spurs and sit on the bench, and i can't blame him for that.

Soldado rumours in Spanish media, I'd take Austin as Soldado's replacement. Not a world class talent, but knows the league, proven goal scorer.
Would he swap QPR starter to be a next option for us? Not an issue for me. QPR in the Championship, he's been there and do that, had a bash at PL football and been successful (on a personal level as opposed to team success). Moving to us, he'd get a shot at European football. Kane won't start every game, so Austin would get games.
100% agree with above, Soldado and Ade sold, Austin and Berahino in. Berahino to be LWF/CF option, Austin outright CF option, Kane can play anywhere attacking. Huge flexibility in that trio, and all proven in PL.

We should sign both Austin and Berahino and make a statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League that we really are capable of breaking in to the Top Four.

Not sure that us signing either of those would scare the top four to be fair. Even so, they would both be very welcome and make great additions to our squad.

We need to sign Benzema to make a statement not Charlie Austin.
My feeling that he is no where near our first choice otherwise we would have coughed up the 15mil by now.If he is still around on deadline day and we haven't signed anyone we may then go for him.
