Yeah it is, but I got a good deal ( I think anyway )
Weds - Mon, flights and hotel in Madrid, £1150
I just gobbled it up as soon as I see it!

Worse places to spend a couple of days in the sun I guess! ?
Got the Europa final on Wednesday too

That is a good deal

Like you say - its not a bad place to be for a few days... in hindsight id have gone Wednesday too just because I cannot wait

I do think that too haha

We will ofcourse check it out beforehand - definitely. I think them not opening up the fan zone for the game will come back to bite Madrid - just nonsensical. Not sure how they think 50-60k fans will find enough bars and not only that but mix of fans in bars is not the best idea
Yep. Its going to be a desperate fight for bar space. I think my tactic is to get to a bar thats showing the game in the afternoon and stay there. Rather than move in the evening....lets see.

Here is a map I made

It includes general information helpful to travel, night buses, Irish pubs, public showers, fan zones and all that. Hope it's useful for somebody.

That’s great, thanks.

Trying to find a decent tapas restaurant for lunch before commencing on the lash. Proving to be difficult as there’s loads online and god knows if they’re any good. The map is helpful for narrowing down areas. Cheers.

I am flying out to Seville on Thursday, returning Monday. I have booked the train from Seville on Saturday, returning on Sunday.

It was my intention to spend Saturday night in a bar in Madrid, but I wasn't looking forward to going without sleep, change of clothes, shower and a shave. This afternoon, I decided to look to see if there were any hotels available in Madrid for Saturday night, at a reasonable price. I was delighted to be able to book a 4-star modern City hotel for £250 - a lot cheaper than when I looked a couple of weeks ago.

Went to Calle Casa de la Cava Braja a few yrs back, they have some decent tapas all down that street. I'm doing a Tapas crawl down there on Friday. Taberna Tempranillo and La Posada de Villa were my favourites.

I thought that when I clicked on the bold bit, it would take me on a link to some hotel paradise, but no, you’re keeping that information to your self.

Always thought tapas was a massive con.

I love the idea of tapas...

Im one of those that will buy a shitload of different food but eat just bits of each... rather than order just one thing... I like variety. It ends up being wasted food using my approach.

Tapas allows me to get five or six things and just scoff all of them. mmmmmmmmmmm

But I do think seven or eight quid for a small plate of calamari for example is a rip off...

I will be drinking Sangria definitely

I love food, especially non British food but I just can’t get exited for meatballs and omelettes.

I’d forgotten about sangria. I will be having some of that 100%.

You are right about the omelettes and meatballs - chorizo is a good one but id imagine their seafood is great, fresh seafood etc

Also you gotta have a Mcdonalds - you have go to compare... normally the first stop for me.

Sangria and San Miguel - SM always reminded me of my Costa Brava holidays with my folks...
