England's Steven Caulker and Tom Lees are among 11 people to be charged by Serbian police following last month's Euro 2013 Under-21 play-off.
The charges relate to a mass brawl which followed England's 1-0 win over Serbia in Krusevac on 16 October.
England assistant coach Steve Wigley has also been charged, along with four players and an assistant coach from Serbia plus three Serbian supporters.
However, Leeds say they have not been contacted about their defender Lees.
"Neither the club nor the Football Association, or indeed the player, have received any form of formal communication, and the FA have confirmed that they will seek at the earliest opportunity to establish the exact nature of the charge and arrange for the most appropriate legal representation," a Leeds statement said.
Tottenham's Caulker played in his team's League Cup defeat at Norwich on Wednesday.

Last month's melee in Serbia erupted after the England Under-21 side had completed a 2-0 aggregate victory over their Serbian counterparts to secure qualification to next year's European Championships in Israel.
England's Danny Rose was given a second yellow card for kicking the ball into the crowd at the final whistle.
Rose, the Tottenham defender currently on-loan at Sunderland, said he had been subjected to racist chants from the crowd during the match and had been hit by stones thrown from the stands.
Police in Krusevac said those charged had "committed an act of violence during a sports event".
The Serbian players charged are believed to be Ognjen Mudrinski, Goran Causic, Aleksandar Kirovski and Djordje Despotovic as well as assistant coach Andreja Milutinovic.
One unnamed player had preliminary charges against him subsequently dropped.
The supporters were charged for using pyrotechnics on the northern side of the Mladost stadium.
European football's governing body Uefa has charged both teams over their players' conduct and the cases will be heard at a meeting of their control and disciplinary body on 22 November.
Serbia denied any form of racism had been shown to England's players.
The Serbian Football Association banned two players - Nikola Ninkovic, 17 and Ognjen Mudrinski, 20 - for a year for their involvement in the clashes.
For their part, goalkeeping coach Srdjan Maksimovic and conditioning coach Andreja Milutinovic were given two-year bans.

Wonder if he could claim fear of persecution as a reason to avoid being extradited?

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to be a fugitive from Serbia.

Caulker was accosted by at least one Serb fan (pictured in Telegraph?) so maybe it was how he dealt with that/a fan that has led to this charge.

Also Dan, i was led to believe he could not be extradited and our courts would deal with it.

What a load of balls, what's this? To be seen to be doing something, so FIFA don't ban you. International football, how far it has it fallen, it's now just a money making operation by FIFA. As Metallica once said "sad but true".
Full support for the Tottenham one!

Free the Tottenham one!

In all seriousness though...the Serbians are completely bonkers, aren't they? WTF is this shit?

Throw them a tenner. They love their bribes over there.

Perhaps Harry's mate Milan could sort it ?

Within a couple of years Serbia will be a full member of the EU and a UK court order would not prevent someone being extradited on trumped up charges courtesy of a European Arrest Warrant . No habeous corpus , no due process , no problem as the little person doesn't matter in the EUSSR .

Better off out now .

If Caulker hit a fan then it's the Serb's fault for not providing adequate security to protect the players .

He should hire Liam Neeson as his representative

It amounts to nothing. He's not going to be extradited is he!

Serbia's national slogan is "We're mental Balkans, we'll have a war about anything and we hate black people too"

Levy should make it clear to the FA that if they don't deal with this properly, they can forget any Spurs player playing for England at any level.

I notice that despite there being no evidence that Caulker is one of the charged players, the media are running with it anyway. Is it just another media manifested opportunity to destabilise our young defender? Probably.
