We got booed off today and i'm thinking 'really'? what do spurs fans actually expect from Spurs this season?

We are nowhere near the top4, we might have talent to match them in some areas but its a brand new team with players coming back from long term injuries and fresh new signings, so lets just all have some patience eh? Obviously we need 1 or 2 more signings in but we're only two games in ffs.

The two teams we've played so far are well organised teams who are very settled and all know their instructions, we're still working out what our best system is and how we can fit our good players into a system that will work.

Lets all just calm down and re-adjust our expectations as its two games into the season, we will come good, Ramos is a top European manager and had to instigate mass changes during the summer, so anybody expecting it to all just gel and click immediately is kidding themselves, big time.

hi Phil, i would agree with you about some of it, for example Boro are generally very settled.

Sunderland are a different stroy, they have brought in more players than we have, granted alot of them were from the spurs team, but they should be having just as many issues of blending as we are, but they performed much better.

Theres more to whats wrong that that, if i had the answers however, i would be earning as much as Ramos is.

Just have to hope Ramos is as good as ppl seem to think he is, i for one havent been impressed yet, least in the league.

The winner was scored by cisse who has been at sunderland say, less than 48 hours.

well, with one trophy in 12 years, all we have at Spurs are expectations. we are supposed to give that up, too?

Well, not losing to Sunderland at home would be a start, wouldn't you say?

We are nowhere near the top4, we might have talent to match them in some areas but its a brand new team with players coming back from long term injuries and fresh new signings, so lets just all have some patience eh? Obviously we need 1 or 2 more signings in but we're only two games in ffs.
That doesn't excuse the poor display today. By all accounts we were totally at sea. The only time we cam alive was just after we scrambled the equaliser and Sunderland put paid to that.

The two teams we've played so far are well organised teams who are very settled and all know their instructions, we're still working out what our best system is and how we can fit our good players into a system that will work.
But surely preseason is the time to be sorting out systems and new formations. We can't realistically entertain ideas of a Top 4 or even a Top 6 finish if we fail to make an impact in the first two games of the season. We have dithered in the transfer market this summer and have made a massive mistake in letting Keane go, and the backlash has been swift and obvious.

Lets all just calm down and re-adjust our expectations as its two games into the season, we will come good, Ramos is a top European manager and had to instigate mass changes during the summer, so anybody expecting it to all just gel and click immediately is kidding themselves, big time.

Santini was also a top European manager. What happened to him? I agree that we should be a little calmer, and truthfully, I've built up a bit of a head of steam today with that result. However, the problems of the team go beyond simply allowing players to settle in. There are gaping holes in the Spurs squad and they haven't been addressed, yet again.

We have once more utterly failed to address the fact that you could use our defence as a colander. Four goals conceded in two games. That's the third worst in the Premiership as things stand now. That's a shocking statistic and there are no excuses for it.

A team that doesn't quit at home, which they most certainly did today

We are nowhere near the top4, we might have talent to match them in some areas but its a brand new team with players coming back from long term injuries and fresh new signings, so lets just all have some patience eh? Obviously we need 1 or 2 more signings in but we're only two games in ffs.

We have had months to sort these signings and didn't. So quit making excuses for our questionable decisions at the mgmt level.

The two teams we've played so far are well organised teams who are very settled and all know their instructions, we're still working out what our best system is and how we can fit our good players into a system that will work.

Why does everyone think that losing to Boro and Sunderland are no big deal. We should be drawing these team on the road and winning at home if we want top 10....not top 4. At least you're ready made excuse about Chelsea's quality is prefabbed for our 6-0 thumping next weekend. How you will justify if we lose to Hull should be entertaining to say the least.

Lets all just calm down and re-adjust our expectations as its two games into the season, we will come good, Ramos is a top European manager and had to instigate mass changes during the summer, so anybody expecting it to all just gel and click immediately is kidding themselves, big time.

Ramos is a questionable EPL manager at the moment. Maybe he will get the game at some point, but he's a cup manager right now, and we are all hoping that he can get a better grasp on the league than Rafa has.

As for the re-adjust, that happened today when we all realized we had to play our best 11 in our first round of the Carling Cup.

We are close to the top 4 in terms of quality. FFS we finished 5th twice with squads nowhere near as strong as this one. Sometimes I don't think our fans realise just how good our squad is. Today we started we a CB pairing of Woodgate and King! Other teams would kill to have the likes of Bale, Bentley, Modric, Lennon, Gio and Jenas. The fact some of our fans see JJ as the weak link should tell you something about just how strong we are. In all the years I've been a Spurs fan i don't think we've ever had such a strong squad. The fact we had Bent up front means fuck all. Loads of teams play with just 1 striker, but very few get to do so with the quality of player we have. Bent played largelly in a 451 at Charlton and scored bags fo goals. Today he hardly got a sniff. There is no excuse. Before they scored, they were actually ahead in terms of attempts on goal! This isn't like last year, when we had players making mistakes as set pieces. This is a poorly set up team of top quality players. But most importantly, if we did "just calm down a bit" the forum would be very dull. If we didn't over react, then there wouldn't be much to read or post and I'd have to go and watch X Factor.

yes we have quality, but the results are what counts. It seems like the good teams out-finesse us and the bad teams out-muscle us.

It annoys me that people dont seem to understand the importance of the situation

If we dont get atleast UEFA cup football how long will the likes of Modric, Dos Santos, Bentley, players that want to play at the top level, stay for. They will dissapear. Remember the nineties, as soon as you are known as a mid table team nobody decent wants to play fr you

why do we sign players ,then play them out of position ie zakora, bale, bentley?

No, the quation is why the fuck we don't sign players who we need too. I'm fucking tired to hear "we are working on bringing new players" and fuck sake, they have done nothing for it, just get another screwed season.

Well i dont honestly believe we deserved to lose today, but not sure we deserved to win either.Anyway,if we would have beaten Boro and Sunderland, we would have got a "can we all calm down a bit "page for very different reasons.People always over react. There was a couple of blokes on the train coming back who wanted Ramos sacked, they probably had nothing but blind faith in him about 2 games ago.
Losing to Boro and Sunderland isnt acceptable, but i could think of a couple of other teams i wouldnt like too of lost too more..
It'll buff up,it always does.

cos its two games in? plus they're the players playing so really if they can't get europe type football then like are they players that we should really be devastated about losing?

those who say that sunderland were a fairly new team is rubbish aswell, they had only 2 new signings out there from the beginning from last season.

plus whoever said we gave up is joking tbh, we really tried our hardest to get back in the game and they did actually score 2 very good goals.

spurs are in a transitional phase, i thing we have got to stop looking at the two 5th place finishes really as the team and management are totally different.

ITS TWO GAMES IN FFS.

we have lost to boro and sunderland... we will get beat by chelsea next week, we will have 0 points from 3 games.... and you want every 1 to calm down???? jog on, if you think thats acceptable then your deluded, we are a piss poor outfit that get rolled over year after year by teams with a bit more bollocks than us, its a joke.

that didnt reallyanswer any questions, or disagree with the statement made about needing to perform in order to keep and ATTRACT the best players, so with this transitional period are you saying you would be happy with a mid table finish. You have seen the problems we have trying to keep Berbs and thats with qualifying for UEFA cup, ever since the Klinsman incident, which really started a bit if an exodus at the time I worry about this very much

Really I think there are only 4 teams we should be contemplating loosing to at home and weknow who they are (even though one should be beaten on pure passion alone!)

i would be happy with a top8 this season, good success in the cups, we need to rebuild and have consistency in our squad year in year out, spurs just have a bad two games and reckon we need an overhaul. it doesn't work like that, you have to build yearly laying strong foundations from which to build upon.

this is getting like england where we expect to beat everyone in the bottom half just because we don't rate them, despite boro and sunderland being very well organised sides.

OK OK you don't expect to lose to sunderland at home but BAE, Bale and King are back from long term injuries, berbatov and keane our two best players last year are out the side we have a new goalkeeper, a player at right back who has barely played there a new central midfield and bentley a new signing along with bent who had injuries last year and limited starts.

put it into perspective slightly, we weren't that bad today we just didn't get the result, it just fell their way, we're finding out a new system and style, we can't just magic all of this shit together. actually yeah your right we should RAMOS OUT!!!!!! tbh
