With CCV’s contract running out next summer, what’s the point of a loan unless its for a loan fee?

Then no difference from selling
Could be questions around his injury status, loan with a small fee + obligation at a reasonable amount of appearances would lower the risk for a buyer given that maybe he can’t pass a medical currently?

Let him go for a couple of mill for goodness sake. He needs to start his career properly somewhere, its never going to happen for him at spurs. I really hope he gets a permanent switch today

by couple of mil, you mean 2 mill, right? as we ain't getting a penny more.

I reckon we could get a fee up to £5 million for CCV, with add ons. He is clearly not upper Premiership but clubs such as Newcastle & Bournemouth have shown interest. Celtic will have funds with the sale of their forward to Palace, so they cannot plead poverty. CCV would be a decent signing for Celtic and will be another one of our books.

For some reason, lots of Celtic fans on Twitter seem confident he’s signing for them tomorrow on loan - can’t tell where the rumor started, someone said The Record?

A Gold saying he’s over his injury and we are going to look for a move for him today.

The club clearly had such high hopes for CCV and Caulker, such a shame neither of them lived up to their promise. Time to get rid, best solution for both him and the club.

Wonder if it was another case of he was bigger and stronger than all the other kids, hence looked better in the age group?

I think that's probably the case with young CBs and strikers especially. If you're bigger and stronger, that gives you an edge for sure.

CCV attended the school which is about a mile up the road from me. He was a model.pupil who was studious and polite,.leaving school with 7 A or A* GCSE's. His school Eastwood, used to arrange matches so as not to clash with his twice weekly training sessions with Spurs.

Not only did CCV excel at football, he was decent at track and field and particularly basketball. His father was a professional American basketball player.

I've kept a close watch on him as he's a local Southend lad. His club team Catholic United also play in fields near my home.

From what I have read, he was not particularly big for his age groups. Simply an all round athlete with determination to make the best of his ability. He's never going to be a world better but will have a decent career somewhere.

Really thought we could have got a couple of million for him, he generally does well in the championship

Guess he leaves on a free next summer.

What is going on with this guy? Do we really think he's worth sticking with or are we asking too much for him? Just can't quite understand what our plan is for him.
