€70mio up front?

Lol. Do they know who they are dealing with?

It will be 50mio over 5 years by close of window.
Any club would laugh them out of the room with that demand. That's the kind of up front amount you'd expect in a €100m+ transfer.

And your opinion is????
I've shared quite a lot in here previously, so I'll keep it quite brief.

I'm a little worried he will struggle as whenever I've seen him he hasn't completely stood out as anything special. He's clearly better than his teammates but I do have some reservations. He won't come in and dictate play or be the focal creative point like Eriksen and he doesn't have as much control of the ball/play as him. He's tenacious and energetic enough and gets across the pitch very well and he definitely has exceptional ability, such as picking out a sublime pass or scoring from nothing.

I can see some traits Poch will like but I'm just not sure if he's consistent enough or worse good enough.

....I'd also like to add that this is just my opinion and whilst other Portuguese fans feel similar it may not be what we expect and he may be an excellent player should we sign. Maybe Poch sees something he can unlock?

So don't form your opinion based on mine, is what I'm saying.

Doesn’t sound like a player worth spanking €70m on then!

I actually think that article is rubbish, it’s not us playing hardball that just isn’t how transfers work. We aren’t playing Fifa, you don’t agree a 70m deal and then give the other club 70m all in one go and that’s it. Every single deal with every single player is done over a period of years with clauses etc.

For what’s it’s
Worth I think he is a very good player but agree that he may not be able to conduct like CE can. He does have exceptional output in terms of assists and goals though. Perhaps the manager thinks he is own that can be Moulded

The games against Benfica for the Portuguese cup were the tipping point that made me believe he could be successful here. He single-handedly won the elimination for Sporting. In the second leg he pulled out an amazing performance, one of the best that I have seen in the Portuguese league in a long time.

Maybe we might have to Google that game to watch a replay or highlights?

€70m upfront?? That deal is never going to happen.
Herc said yesterday, all our deals will be paid spread over the term of 3/4/5 years.
Fernandes has very good technical skills, could play either side CM role in a 433 or ‘the diamond’, or in the advanced 3 in a 4231. A lot has been made of his form playing off Bas Dost this year, so could play higher up off Kane, strikes the ball very well off either foot if in space. Playing with the likes of Alli, Son, Kane, Moura etc, he will be afforded space.

I suspect he'll be competing with Dele for a starting spot.

Yes you have made your point. You want to add any other signings?

Or should we take this back on topic.

I mean your point was “I have to admit I trust Poch when it comes to signings.”

Why would you trust him, his success rate is not very good, especially with attacking players. The fact that you say Sissoko is the best example of a poch signing surely goes against the point you were trying to make.

His best signing has been TA, he’s made some disasters and some good signings but overall the majority of our best 11 were here before he came.

And everyone was scared of Aulas.... Negotiating with Sporting and Betis have been a nightmare. I struggle to see how these clubs can expect GLC and Fernandes to be worth as much or more than Paulo Dybala.

Thank fuck we didn't hang around with Ndombele, if Aulas had seen all this nonsense with Betis going on he might well have held on to him for a while longer.

My guess is that we have this guy sitting ready to sign if we can't get Dybala over the line. Looks a decent player but obviously hoping for Dybala.

Would be incredibly harsh to string a player along like that though. Brutal.

Hard for me to feel sympathetic when we've had it done to us so much over the years. Part of the unforgiving and cruel business.

(for the record I really like Bruno as a player and would welcome him here)

Well it happens a lot. If we sign Dybala I doubt many of us will be feeling anything for Fernandes due to the amount of masturbating.

All the ITK was suggesting the Fernandes & Sessegnon were the mostly likley deals to close.
All the Papers suggesting that Dybala & Lo Celso are the ones we are pushing for.

It might even have riled Levy up so badly, that he’d be sprouting hair on his pate.

Now that it appears we have GLC and probably Sess with Dybala possibly screwing us around, it might be time to focus our positive energy towards Bruno.
