Some may disagree but the worst thing that can happen to us is to win the League Cup. It will guarantee Mourinho will stay on at least one more season and we will continue to worsen as a club.

We’ve not been defensive (although game situation has a lot to do with it). The issue that has always been present is that there is zero possession structure. No real creative runs, no dangerous zones occupied by midfielders or attackers, the next pass is always a mystery with no attacking plan. It’s just hoping for a moment of magic. When allowed to sit back and counter, this isn’t a bad strategy at all: more space, more possibilities, more ways of hurting the opposition. But against a low block, it just isn’t gonna work often. That’s been a theme the whole season. We can’t finish chances to go 2-0 up, we sit too deep and can’t switch the style easily. We’ve taken the lead in most of our games, the issue there is set pieces. When going behind it’s difficult because we really don’t know how to attack as a unit.

Vinicius signed as Kane's backup and then does not get used two game running when Kane is injured. That compounded by Bale's decline and Bergwijn's lack of confidence means we will struggle to score. BUt worse than that is we're totally outnumbered in CM whilst having 3 CBs marking 1 forward.

Get a defender off - any one of them, move Sanchez or Alderweireld to RB, and put Sissoko in CM. Then get Bale off for Vinicius and give us a fighting chance.

So at HT against the team 17th in the league who haven’t won at home all season they’ve had 9 shots to our 1 and we are losing. It’s honestly laughable how people are still defending this.

If we turn it around are you gonna put your shrine of Jose back up?
