I've been looking and listening to the players the club the fans and even the press build us up to such great things this season and even though its too early in I would still like to have my say.

I love my club and would support them even if they went down to conference but in my opinion the problem we got is we are too sentimental. I think we need to shift some more players Jenas, Dawson and Gilberto do not have the skill to make that push to the next level, King as good as he is when fit needs to go too because we can't compete with the uncertainty of his fitness, the jury is still out on Lennon although at the moment he should only be used as an impact sub as is the same for BAE. Bent needs to prove or move he was'nt given the chance last season so this should be the test to his potential.

We need a LW CD DM S/CF

At the moment we do have a great bunch of talent but we don't have a great team too many weak links, some may disagree with my post so tell us what/who should we do to make it to the top.

The Villa game today is even more important than the CC cup game as its really make or break tonight

How can it be make or break 4 games in?

as in confidence for the players and I'm quite sure if we loose tonight the fans are not gonna go quietly

Oh I forgot to add Zokora to my list of those to go

I have to say i totally disagree with your thinking. Jenas is vice captain and now an England impact player on a regular basis under two of the world's most respected managers. I fail to see how anyone can want him out given what he gives to the team. (Every team needs an engine and he is ours.)

BAE has spent the last year on the sidelines out with injury. When he has played this season he has looked promising when getting forward. I'd sooner keep him than sign another untried fullback who would take time to bed in and get used to the pace of the Premiership.

Zokora does his job despite much criticism to the contrary. Last season he finished with the highest pass completion in the team, why because he keeps things simple. He's no Hudd or Modric but he will tackle and give the ball to someone who will do something with it. Dont ask him to shoot or to ply a 40 yard pass. (As Davids said: "Know your limits and concentrate on your strengths").

I cant see how you've made the judgement that our Brazilian international Left wingback isnt good enough for us. He has been with us for a period of 5 months part of which he was injured.

The only one I can agree with is Dawson, but even so we have to buy a replacement first. Not just a replacement, an improvement. If we are gonna buy someone to be second fiddle to King, Woodgate and now Corluka, is he gonna be happy on the bench and how much is he gonna cost. (Now you answered those questions, is he actually gonna be better than Dawson? I doubt it!)

We dont need a CB cos we have Corluka and we dont need a DM because we have Corluka.

Yes we need a wide LW and another CF.

But ultimately our players are as good as Chelsea's,liverpool's, Man U's and l'arses. The only difference is that thier players have been playing together for some time and make only one or two additions every summer. Whereas we make 5 or 6 additions every window!

As fourth choice Daws is fine. We simply aren't going to get someone better who is prepared to sit on the bench—we could attract Corluka because his versatility means he's going to get plenty of starts, but Dunne blew us out because he was never going to get picked ahead of Ledley and Woody. Arsenal have Silvestre and Djourou as back-up. I know who I'd sooner have.

Whatever some of us think of Zokora it's obvious that Ramos rates him. He's hardly the worst DM in the world and he's a more than adequate CB and RB. I can see more people's opinion of him change the way mine has since this time last year.

I suspect that our poor start to the season had as much to do with the players that left as they players we've got. The last thing we need is to get rid of more players - what we need is a period of stability, with no more musical chairs with the playing squad. We lost a lot of players over the summer and whatever you say about them, they were almost all experienced Premiership performers. We have replaced them with players who have almost no Premiership experience and we're suffering as a result.

I am so very tired of people talking about "the next level" as though football were Championship Manager and you can just go and buy results. It may have escaped people's attentions but over the last two seasons the more players we've bought the lower down the league we've finished. We chop and change players every transfer window and then wonder why the French under-21 captain or the fulcrum of the Croatia side aren't performing wonders in the premiership. We assume that reputations are a substitute for experience and think that playing pretty football is more important than winning games.

If we're talking about "the next level" let's remind ourselves that right now, we're bottom of the league. We are the only team in the premiership without a win. So we should worry more about grinding out a few wins before we worry about whether Jenas is good enough to get us into the Champions League.

Ok let me just say, my meaning of the next level is points plain and simple points. All the teams which seemed to be in the same level we were have stepped up their game, and thats going by the last 1/4 of last season, and they seem to carry into this season.

Ok I'll hold my hands up I don't and have never rated Jenas but thats my opinion anywayand I'm not always right (don't tell my wife though)

I think we said this last year. It's all about momentum and the longer not winning goes on, the harder it gets as you're always playing catchup.

we saw this last season, we never fully receovered from a shit start and gave up after the CC. This can't happen again.

Can Jenas and Modric play in the same midfield? I'm not sure. I think if we have to play Jenas in the centre then Modric needs to play on the left, which will then upset our width.

My post was in no way meant to upset anyone just my opinion, however after reading some of your replies I do think stability is the key and getting players out might not be the best thing now after the rocky times we've just been through, however I still feel that we need to do something about our weak positions
