Everton are prepared to sell Ben Godfrey to Tottenham in January if a bid is submitted. Spurs are in the market for a new centre-back in January after losing both Eric Dier and Micky van de Ven to injury in recent weeks.

Great news, then when Everton are docked further points they can say it was because Godfrey was worth x millions more.

Godfrey has played one minute of Premier League football this season. One. For a mid table level club.

He's another one who could thrive due to our system, Everton play mid to low block under Dyche which requires a different kind of defender than we do.

Horses for courses.

Average defender. Poor on the ball. No thanks. For anyone saying no one would come in to play back up, Romero will regularly be suspended and VdV will need to be slowly reintegrated to avoid a repeat injury.
