A lot of people chucking out semi-random names of potential managers should bear in mind that Baldini is still at Tottenham. If the reasons for sacking AVB are that he's got a squad full of fine players and can't win matches at home or play pleasing football, then why would Levy sack Baldini, who brought in the new players that AVB is not getting to produce results?

If Baldini is going to stay, then surely it will be Baldini who will recruit the new permanent coach/manager, which suggests that it is not going to be any of the 'usual suspects' being paraded all over SC, very few of whom would work with a Director of Football.

I scarcely have to add that I was opposed to removing AVB. I'm never in favour of sacking the manager unless you're in relegation trouble, especially not in mid-season.

Luciano Spalleti, will be a front runner

Erm...yesterday was our 4th Prem game after City. So your idea of a comeback is 2 wins and a draw?

A draw against Utd, 2 wins and then a battering of a lower team in the EL. Yes that's a small comeback.

Like i said had he not been sacked and we'd gone on to keep repeating this all season at what point do you fire a manager who is winning all non-PL games and continually keeping in contention for 4th in the league?

As bad as the performance was yesterday I wonder if it was the press conference that made Levy push the button.

You mean the inference that players were bought without his consent? I'd not be surprised, Levy acting to protect himself if so regardless of other factors. Not exactly the first time it's come up either...

I called for his time to be given, then I was quite pissed with the consistent non-improved results and called for his head..

now I saw the news from soccernet I was actually very sad, although it was expected... sighz.. bitter sweet..

all the best AVB...

Not having a go but does this not exactly sum up the attitude of our fans/boardroom that has got us in this mess in the first place?

Not the thread for this discussion. However, can you please get me into future training sessions, team meetings etc etc. That way, I too can know what has happened behind closed doors
He was a comedy player, and I can see how you would want someone who could destabilise the team on and off the pitch out. I mean, look at BAE and ADE with their stupid picture yesterday, if they cared about the club, they wouldnt have done it. Hasnt BAE gone on the record to say "hes only in it for the cash", which of course we all are, except you are supposed to care a tiny bit at least.

I can see a scenario, like with Harry where players we sold were brought back. If Rose is now 1st choice, having BAE as a backup could be useful.

Anyone but fucking Naughton.

Actually, what about Fredricks? Played well on the right vs Anzhi, can he switch to LB?

Total arrogance
Reliance of stats of players and not using his eyes
Not listening to anyone else
Refusing to meet with Daniel and Franco about players
Ostracising the rest of the club from the 1st team
Rude behind the scenes to all staff

Breezer:
I wouldn't say he was rude to ALL staff. He was friendly and helpful with other coaches at the club but obviously he pissed off the wrong people. But spot on about ostracising the 1st team.
IS that why a bunch of club jackets have "1st Team" embroidered on them? I cant remember us doing that before AVB?

Just hope Levy has a plan.

Capello is old and why would he leave before a World Cup.

If Sherwood is given the job even as a caretaker I'll be livid.

This is make or break the Xmas period.

I'm a huge fan of Ponchettino but doubt he would come.

I'm sorry but, and I might be in the minority, but I don't want Laudrup anywhere near Spurs. That's not a power move, IMO.

Maybe I'm trying to be too positive, but I don't believe Levy would do this and not have something in the back ground.
The message from the club was more announcements will follow?
Whatever happens now, we need to get behind the team and the new manager.
Forever Tottenham
