It is amusing that people who wanted AVB gone for playing conservative football are advocating Capello. I wonder how long they would give him if they judge on the same criteria!?...

Indeed, and they say Spurs fans are not fickle.

Do you think that result would be the same with Vlad and Vert in defence? Sandro going off early, Paulhino getting sent off?

It was a very bad day but I think at full strength it would have been a different story.

Maybe we would have equalled our West Ham tally and just lost by the three goals?

Still numb from yesterday. Gutted we're in limbo again but think it was the only humane thing to do. Money has really destroyed football. Am just sick of us always being the laughing stock.

No excuse. We were beng ruined from the first whistle. If anything, Liverpool stepped down a gear or two.

They sliced us open enough times to score more even before Paulinho got sent off and I thought we were supposed to have squad depth? They didn't have Enrique, Gerrard or Sturridge. Fucking Jon Bastard Flanagan scored a belter!

Of course it would but then it requires people to use a bit of perspective and that is asking far too much for some!

Hoddle is probably a useful man to have around in a coaching set up/advisory role but having seen his team selections on sky, his constant praise of thudd & his signings as a club manager I would find his appointment a tad worrying.
I'm sure we are looking at all options with a caretaker choice there as a fallback.

As a side note I hope Daniel takes a good look at himself as this wouldn't be the first manager he's fallen out with. I'm not saying it's not the right decision but I'm sure he isn't blameless. It's never too late for self improvement, he needs to back the next manager fully & perhaps get a little less involved. Selling vdv & replacing him with Dempsey/siggy etc wasn't right for starters. I think he got cold feet also when push came to shove with big signings meaning we've missed out on some top players over the years in his search of a bargain.

Funny things ain't we.

Slate him massively. Now he's sacked, he all feel a bit sad.

Lose your job before xmas is tough for anyone. Guess being rich makes it easier ;-)

My opinion is, that Levy needs to look at himself now - less football interference and let the football experts run the team. A serious lack of managers our there are the moment... (Clarke....), so this year is now simply trying not to let it seriously fail.

Whomever comes in needs to give every player a chance (ade for example).

Out of the quagmire and into the unknown. The unknown might be fantastic or might be horrendous but at least it is exciting!

I'm not sure whether he should have left us. On the face of it we are in the QFs of the league cup, 6 ins out of 6 in the europa and have more points at this stage last season

However losing 0-3 to west ham, 0-5 to liverpool and 6-0 to city and playing BORING football is what ultimately cost him his job

How many other mangers could lose there best player, sign 7 new ones and get them playing great football straight away? Not easy

Agree, was thinking about what he tried and what worked over the season and a bit he was here: -

WORKED - Goalie playing as sweeper;
FAILED - High defensive line; Midfield 3 (never got the right balance); Lone strker, inverted wingers,
Dont you mean introverted wingers as in

introvert
noun [C] /ˈɪn.trə.vɜːt/

/-vɝːt/ C2 someone who is shy, quiet, and unable to make friends easily → Compare extrovert

we are a fucking joke of a club run by the biggest Joker of all, Daniel Levy

Levy has done a great job in getting this club in a sound financial position. But he hasn't got a clue when it comes to understanding what it takes to put a successful team on the pitch. The only successful managers that we've had under his regime have been Jol and Redknapp. And the way he handled both of those sackings was a disgrace.

Remember - Levy wanted Santini, but after that disaster he had to turn to Jol to get us out of trouble. But he never wanted or appreciated Jol, so as soon as the opportunity presented itself, he fired big Martin and got Ramos instead. Another epic failure, and had to turn to Harry to rescue the club from the potential of relegation. But again, you always knew that ol' Harry's face never fitted with Levy's vision of 'his' club. So again, despite finishing 4th, he found some excuse to sack Harry and get in his man, AVB. Now, here we go again....

Hopefully this time, Joe Lewis will see that a change is needed in the boardroom too.
