For those who have watched this kid how good is he? And is he seen as more of a CM or RB, given that he's been playing both roles for Leeds.

Very very good. I can't see Leeds letting him go cheap and I'd question how much we'd be willing to pay for a relatively unproven teenager. He's a class act though for sure.

If the MO of our operations is to heavily target promising youth then there really is no better candidate out there than Gray.

Him, Bergvall and Sarr could be mainstays in the engine room for years ahead.

Bloody hell I'd be absolutely DELIGHTED if we signed Gray. He is destined to be a top class player barring serious injury plus he is home grown of course. Hugely talented young player. I'm sure every top club in England are after him.

For his age he is top class - he has been mainly been played as RB however he is really a central midfielder. He has been excellent at right back though which shows how versatile and adaptable he is. 18 years old with 40 appearances for Leeds already tells it's own story. He would come in and be able to be a squad option immediately.

Yes, he's been deployed to great aplomb at right back but naturally best you feel as a DCM.

What it does pose, and i'm not necessarily advocating it is that whilst shifting out Hojbjerg is obvious this summer, it might make us reevaluate selling Royal in the process freeing up another non HG spot whilst trimming the squad (and wages).

Was trying to work out how we'd find the mollah for such a young player but forgot that we'll very likely be selling (at least) Hojberg + Rodon they already have so fingers crossed that's around £30 million at least on a good day...

Hmmm maybe it is more do-able that I first thought!

Indeed but regardless of his potential it'll still have to fit a budget. As I say I do wonder how much we'd be willing to go for potential.

Are Leeds that badly off that they would sell their crown jewel just as they seem to be on their way back to the Prem?

Won't Leeds want a silly fee if they get promoted? Which it looks like they will.

I also can't imagine him wanting to miss out on a Premier League season with them, as he and his family are die-hard Leeds fans.

A bit more than fans - he’s part of a dynasty.

I'd imagine we would be hoping to offset any fee with Rodon signing for them which will help a bit.

Yeah it will be a very hard deal to do but he is destined for the very top, assuming he continues developing as he has done and doesn’t get a serious injury. He will leave at some point.

With PSR being what it is there is a chance Leeds decide to cash in now in order to spend more on multiple positions. Ether way he will be valued highly by them. Everyone who’s watched him knows how insanely talented he is.

I personally don’t think we would go for him without Rodon potentially being involved but even 10-15 mil off the deal might make this a much more attractive move. I know that we could just sell Rodon elsewhere probably for a similar fee so it’s not really “money off” but one would hope that any deal with Leeds would potentially help with terms for Grey.

Ether way I certainly hope we explore it with some conviction. Even if it includes a loan back. I know that would be a big ask considering the money likely involved but he is such a big talent that I think in the long run it would be worth it.

If they make it to the PL, maybe a buy with a loan back to them for him to get PL experience ( I’m not sure of loan rules so don’t know if this is allowed )

Brilliant talent.

The best 6/8 prospect in the country.

Better still, top class temperament and drive to improve.

Never seems flustered or overawed on the pitch despite his age.

Will be able to play now and going right to the top.

Can play the Ange 6 or inverted RB role equally well.

Can’t see him leaving Leeds yet or us agreeing a fee, but would be my no.1 CM choice.

We’d be sorted at CM and CB for a decade.
