Being of Greek Cypriot origin I would firstly like to say a big well done to Anorthosis for reaching the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and in turn creating history for Cypriot football. After being at the game with my dad last season when they were slaughtered 6 - 1 (even when we were going through a bad patch) by Tottenham I realised that Cypriot football still had a very long way to go to be anywhere near the group stages of the UEFA Cup let along the Champions League.

I watched the first leg of the Olympiakos tie when I was in Cyprus and have to admit that they looked a completely different side. They looked much more organised at the back and their goalkeeper made some very good saves. In attack they looked much better aswell. They were also a bit fortunate when they were 2 - 0 up in the first leg and Olympiakos hit the post from a spot-kick, a few minutes later they finished off the job and made it 3 - 0. I did not see last night's game but to go away and only lose 1 - 0 in Greece seems to be a big achievement, considering Liverpool lost 1 - 0 to Olympiakos two seasons ago in Greece in the Champions League group stages.

For a small country like Cyprus this is a massive achievement for all of the people. Hopefully the money from this could be invested wisely and the national game improved more and more. Well done to Anorthosis.

PS: Hopefully they get the arse in their group and I will definately be down the Emirates cheering them on.

I remember I was very impressed with one player when we played them, and it was the brazilian William Boaventura, but he is not playing there anymore as he has been transffered to FC Metalurh Donetsk in the Ukraine.

They have improved the squad this season, though....

Signings like Cédric Bardon, Traianos Dellas, Jeffrey Leiwakabessy, Sávio (former Real Madrid player), Vincent Laban, etc......

Only heard of Savio and Dellas from them, but Savio is a very, very good player with a cracking left peg and Dellas is solid, still surprised they beat Olimpiakos though because they were wank against us last year.

Fair play to 'em.

It's a right laugh that we spend all this cash and are still nowhere near the CL but shit teams like Anorthosis get in.

There you go, the mysteries of crappy UCL qualification rules. This is unbelievable. Good on them, though, well fought and well deserved.

And Uefa needs to amend the cup-tied thing because it seems that all of our new prospective signings will be...
