Tottenham transfer news: Alex Song's £9.4m salary demands could put off Spurs


Alex Song is demanding £9.4million a year to return to the Premier League


The former Arsenal midfielder is out of favour at Barcelona and has been made available on loan, with Tottenham thought to be considering a move.

Yet Song is believed to be unwilling to budge from his annual salary of £5m a year after tax, which equates to more than £180,000 a week before deductions.

A more probable destination appears to be Turkey, with Galatasaray likely to move before the transfer window closes.

Overrated! Mate, after RVP he was the goon's best player by a country mile, back in 2011/12, the amount of assists he clocked up that season was very impressive, by far the best CDM in the league that season. Since then he's just been back up at Barca and got hardly any playing time.

The Abidal one makes me crack up everytime. I remember seeing it live and had to keep rewinding and replaying it. It's the sequence of his expressions. Firstly, the way his face lights up when Puyol walks over, then this look of sheer confusion and bewilderment as Abidal shrugs past him. Finally, the sheer embarrassment as he pats Abidal on the back thinking "fuck, I hope nobody noticed!"
