/We need both really.

When we had Eriksen we were always saying we need an Eriksen backup for when he's injured/so he could rest. We lost all creativity when he wasn't in the team.

Then we lost Eriksen and didn't even replace him, let alone get a backup in!

Maddison and Scott both in makes sense.
Maybe the cheaper Vicario means we can stretch the budget to both.

If we are going to Bristol City to look at Scott we could do a lot worse than look at his mate Tommy Conway who looks a real talent - 20 years old just had his break out season young forward broke into the Scotland squad as well looks a player when I saw them

We definitely need both. Can’t just have a strong 11. Players get injured, get out of form, need options off the bench to change a game etc etc.

Don't know why we hanging about with this one, Scott is the best brightest potential outside the PL.
Surely we can be creative and offer someone on loan or something. You just know we will move when it's too late.

Because we only buy shit talents from the championship

Can see us regretting this one in a few years but just no real space in the squad at the moment

Yeah. Honestly West Ham would be a decent move for him where he could probably get playing time and they can point to what they just did with Rice as far as him being able to move to one of the top 4 teams early in his prime.

Don’t know where we are budgetwise but I’d happily sign him and let him stay to get another year of solid Championship experience, then integrate him and loan them Devine as a replacement in a year’s time.

O keefe saying we've monitored for years but not made any sort of move as of yet.
He’s been saying this for a while. I wonder if Scott is one of those players we’d rather see how he develops over the next year but if it looks like we might loose out on him we might firm up our interest.

Who says we have not made moves as of yet? We have for a long while. Valuation for any club is unrealistic. We are interested

POK, the guy mentioned in the post I quoted, has been saying we like him for a long while but haven’t actually made attempts to get him. I’m not surprised they are asking for a lot, hopefully nobody pays it.

Could be similar to Tapsoba in that regard - we put in a fair offer (no lowballing) and if Bristol City opt to be greedy then we will swiftly move on.

Difference perhaps is that Scott is widely coveted right now so within their rights to start a bidding war.

That's exactly what POK is saying. We have a longstanding interest. But haven't acted on that yet

From D1 on COYS Alec Scott has been on clubs radar for 2 years now and its possible we sign him but its not the highest priority , we shipped 63 league goals last season so there are going to be 2 if not 3 center half coming in now

As I have said its highly likely Holberg goes we have concrete interest from Bayern and athletico he does not fit Ange system , Ange wants to have a look at gill, glc and tangy pre season but bearing in mind bissouma is injury prone and Rodrigo will not even make the bench until mid/end of sept then there is a good chance 2 new midfielders will come In as well, Ange will want 6 high energy midfielders , 2 who can sit and 4 in the bentacur /maddison role there must be 2 players for each role

kulu was seen as a bit of a punt fantastic first season not so good second we are paying 30 million over 6 years and he is young with a high ceiling so we took a punt but depending how things pan out do not be surprised if we splash heavily on a top forward /winger to make up the 3 with H and son

Lot of parallels between Maddison at Cov/Norwich to Scott now. Bowen at Hull too.

Maybe the signing of Maddison is a timely reminder that we need to be taking a chance on these standouts from the EFL more often.
