WRT to the above, Tariq Panja deleted and re-addressed the point. Seems they’re actively forced to sell to enable them to but new players. It could still mean that they’re less likely to part with their better players, but it’s not a hard stop on new registration.

It’s also irrelevant for this season as Inter will get knocked out of CL (although likely fall into Europa) ?

Had a shocker. Was withdrawn at 60 mins
Inter were poor in general, especially at the back. Milan lost concentration and let them back in towards the end. Really think Inter are going to struggle this season, they just haven’t been able to strengthen as well as the other contenders. They are going to have a fight on their hands for a CL spot imo.

Interesting. I didn’t watch just saw online it says bastoni removed after a really poor night.
how much better on the ball is bastoni then lenglet?
hopefully they finish outside of champions league and are more desperate for money. We’ll take bastoni and barella off their hands lol

Was at fault for 2 of Milan’s goals.
If he keeps up his present form Inter will beg us to take him in January. Conte will back hins of to turn his form around.
Good. If we are ever back for him, the offer will be alot lesser than before most likely. Served them right.

I imagine we will discuss Bastoni and Lenglet with their clubs in Jan. Could even end up with both if cheap enough! Could Davies be re-trained as a CCB?

I don't think so, but the thing with Davies is if we ever decided to let him go(because we upgraded) there would be no shortage of takers for him.

If we are truly as ambitious as Conte wants, or Levy tells us he is, at some point some of those solid but unspectacular players will need to be moved on. Not Davies necessarily, but players of that status within the squad. Good pro's who will always give 100% but in the long term may not quite be the quality required.

Completely agree. Need players who can fully play contes way. I appreciate its hard to find true ball playing cbs.
could lenglet or bastoni play ccb?

Then you understand how hard it was to upgrade certain area's this Summer then? Because if I'm being honest that didn't always come across in your posts.

Only watched brief highlights, so very cautious if drawing conclusions from that, but for bayern second goal he looked terrible. Like a confused slow moving lump. Is he really in that bas a slump, or played much better in rest of match/not representative?

I watched him in the Milan derby and he was the first one substituted, he had a pretty average game.

Not sure what AC sees in him.

According to the SC hivemind he's one of the best left footed CBs in the world. Never watched him myself.

I think you have to take into account Conte wants him to do a specific job in that role, a role he has done successfully for AC. Is he doing that same job for Inzhagi or is he asking him to play a different way?

If you mean to defend, then no

He's a ball player yes, but his defense was pretty poor, albeit in one game and I'm no expert.

It’s worth noting that Skriniar’s form has also dipped and neither of them are helped by the very slow De Vrij in the middle. Bastoni was better last season especially when playing alongside Perisic. This season he has really struggled with the constant rotation of Darmian, Dimarco and Gosens on his left. Bastoni is still raw but the player he was under Conte and even last season is light and day compared to what we are seeing this season. That’s not to say he’s being asked to play a dramatically different role, he isn’t, but the whole back line is a mess at the moment.

I mentioned previously but Inter in general have looked increasingly mediocre this season. Everyone tipped them to challenge for the Scudetto but personally I think out of the big guns and with Napoli and Roma starting to click I think they may even miss out on CL.

But regards Bastoni I wouldn’t put too much weight into what your seeing atm, it’s not a true representation of his ability and if he came I’m fairly confident working with Conte he would re find his form fairly quickly.
