'possibly' & 'potentially' are the optimum words. He needs to develop for 1-2 years before he's even considered starting for a top club.

Their fans are absolutely livid with the potential sale of Lamela, the ultras will apparently kick off big time if there isn't several quality signings to come in. I doubt they will be appeased by the prospect of developing our potentially world class wonderkid.
Also a good point but in reality Roma right now would be better off Loaning a potential player than imo wasting money on Demba Ba as they did with Gervinho lol the players they are being linked with to replace Lamela are pretty poor players & i feel loaning a player like Halilovic might actually benefit them by giving them more time to find the ideal replacement than doing what we ourselves have done many times (Frazier Campbell, Keanes return, Pav etc)

Rushing to buy for the sake of it for players with big wages.
That wont help there finances and it wont please the Ultras too.

I'm probably being selfish wanting to have Halilovic bought by us and developed at Roma but i actually see a benefit on Roma's side too, Players always start out as potential but players like Gervinho etc are putting Roma in a worse position than loaning a player like Halilovic.

Oh no doubt I would totally be for them loaning Halilovic (if we got him). I just don't feel he'd be deemed good enough by the management. By the same token I don't want to see him loaned out to bloody Peterborough or Swindon.

Modric was loaned to a bosnian side to develop. QPR?

No fresh movement for days and with Levy and Baldini tied up in other deals seemingly, not sure if this has fallen by the way side

I'm guessing this deal has gone on the back burner while we tie up the big transfers and to give his father some time.

Can one of the Croats confirm..

I'm told he has broken his arm/wrist. He wouldn't have moved to us immediately anyway, but this may delay negotiations.

I fear our renewed interest in Vadillo means we no longer fancy our chances with Halilovic. Similar fees, both very young wing forwards with lots of potential but who haven't totally broken through yet. I can't imagine we'd have the cash to splash for both. Hopefully Vadillo won't come with the same baggage as Alen did.

We've unfortunately got a couple immediate needs that need to be filled over the next few days, so hopefully we'll get those taken care of and sneak this one in. But I must say I'm glad this one is on the back-burner for now.

He played yesterday against Slaven Belupo for 30 minutes (and he was very good, lots of dribbles) and I don't see anything in our media about any injury.

A few days back ryantegan asked that Holiiga guy (the reliable Croation journalist) about Halilovic and he said that he still expected the transfer to go through by Deadline Day. :)

If we still want him it will happen. Halilovic doesn't have a choice, it's Dinamo or us. Arsenal won't spend 15m for him, Barcelona and Real Madrid have enough similar prospects (or in case of RM they can just buy already finished products), Bayern won't buy him and don't need him etc. I think Levy will make final offer on the deadline day and we'll see what happens. And if we don't get him then, maybe we'll try to buy him in january, but honestly if they refuse us now screw them. Move on to other wonderkids if that's what we are looking for.

Thing is if he's not coming now there's no rush to fo it tgis window necessarily, deals are often agreed outside of a window and then go through the next window. Huntelaar and diarra to madrid a few years back were agreed before the jan window opened as an example

Ok, can you keep an eye out for any information please? I'm trying to verify a source ;)

This has all gone sadly quiet. I'm not sure if we have cooled our interest or are just not treating this as a priority right now.
