Toby Alderweireld could consider making a U-turn over his Tottenham Hotspur future following the arrival of Jose Mourinho as manager.

I think the Toby, Jan and Eriksen contract situation will be a telling sign of how things may have actually been "in house" with Poch.

There are rumours he was losing the trust of some players and clearly in some performances, especially Eriksen, he wasn't playing anyway near to his best and in most games hasn't even seemed to be interested.

If they do now enter contract talks then maybe there were deeper issues then what the average fan was aware of.

I wish Pochettinho all the best and maybe one day he will return having won trophies elsewhere.

Players signing contracts after him leaving doesn't sit well with me personally. I get its business and all that but in my world thats two faced can never be trusted.

I'd have said (as someone who has no inside knowledge) that it had gone stale. Eriksen had his head turned by the thought of Real, but they no longer wanted him. He was left depressed and wondering "what next". Toby et al were similar. No new blood to shake things up. It was stale. Jose is an exciting new challenge for them, without going anywhere. It is not an indication of Poch falling out with anyone if they decide to stay and take on that challenge.

Maybe they weren't happy under Poch, nothing against Poch but he's not gonna be friends with everyone, it's going to happen to and has happened to Mourinho.

Weak.
We don't need that type of mentality at our club. I'd take Pochettinho over those two players any day....but hey hoo Pochettinho gone Mourinho here life goes on.

Well thats nice of Toby with the boatload of clubs he has chasing him and willing to pay the release clause.

If stories of the atmosphere in the club under Poch for the last 10 months are true then it is no wonder some experienced players wanted out.

If Jan, TA, Rose and Eriksen wanted out but didn't get better offers then a new manager can be seen as a new beginning.

If Jose can make any of them happy and performing again then it is of great benefit to the club.

I don't think he has done anything unforgivable.

I believe he was a limited player but tenacious as anyone. Like many experienced pros at the club his performances by the end of Poch's reign was poor and the effort was often lacking.

Maybe this was due to Poch lacking the tactical nous to get the best out of the players and his tactic of getting the players to work harder than the opposition was no longer working.

Maybe the players are just dicks or unhappy with their contract situations.

Either way if Jose can get any of the players I have mentioned back to their level, including Rose, then I am happy for them to remain. It will be of great benefit to the club.

Clean slate for everybody, new beginnings all around, anybody who is motivated to stay on is welcome to. That goes for Rose, Aurier, Alderweireld and any individual player. It's about the whole moving forward, not about each story in the past.

He constantly displays absolutely nothing between his ears. Sounds like he has burned his bridges with Levy too fortunately.

Maybe but he hasn't done anything unforgivable. Out of the four I have mentioned I think Rose is the least likely to get back to form.

But even if it is just short term getting Rose back to playing well will be really helpful to the team.

As fans we don't have to drive every player out of the club when they go astray.

I disagree. If they didn’t enjoy their job under him, why should have they signed?
