I watched the half season highlights and kind of agree. Looks a bit clunky but seems to win a lot of tackles and actually should have had about 8 assists from the half year review but for terrible finishing from team mates.

Loves a ball over the top of the defence. Definitely not as polished as the Atalanta player.

Not necessarily, I would suspect we will continue to monitor the Gallagher situation and will try to bring either him or Wharton in with Gallagher being possibly the first choice (though possibly less likely to get). God knows though, maybe Wharton would come out of the 'youth prospects' budget which might be seperate from the Gallagher money.

I have only seen a couple of games and read a few articles so nowhere near enough to write any sort of detailed report. From what i've seen he actually has good feet and is very adept at moving the ball away from pressure quickly. He can be rather smooth in possession and good at receiving the ball on the half tern. His passing range is excellent and although he tends to play a lot of short passes will always be looking for a penetrating long/through ball. His weakness comes in the defensive side of his game, whilst he is good at positioning himself and intercepting the ball he isn't particularly great in the tackle and will often miss time challenges and set himself up poorly. I have also read a few people complaining about his physicality being a little weak but that again seems to be more in relation to his defensive game rather then his attacking game. His weakness in defence, which will probably improve in time to be fair, probably makes him more a rotation option for Sarr then the deeper Biss role. What I would say Is looking at the way he plays the game, i think he will need some adapting to the speed and intensity of the PL as he seems to like taking his time in possession a times. Looks a very good prospect tho. But like I said, im no expert on him this is just an initial opinion.

Looks like a decent situation for us. We're struggling to find a permanent place for Pierre, which means he can see out the season as a rotational or a player shore up a game, then we can bed in Wharton in the summer. Hopefully we can afford two loan backs...

really. I was very impressed by his tackling, take ons, build ups, long range passing, shooting. Everything apart from headers. The kid is a mix of Sarr and Bissouma

I'd say he's more of a 6 than an 8 despite agreeing with nearly everything else you say.

From watching him I think he's better defensively than you give him credit for. He just has the look of a deeper lying player to me. His mannerisms, positioning, reading of the game etc all point to him playing deeper despite some of his weakness's that you point out.

I'm not sold on him personally, hence my comment in the other thread, that it's frustrating we passed on Alex Scott.

Whether or not we can afford him this window without selling PEH is the issue.

We can 100% afford him, that's not one of the numerous reasons this might not happen imo.

Agree, if Wharton isn't available for a reasonable fee this window, which seems to be the case, then i'm sure we will be monitoring both until summer. Wharton only just signed a contract extension until 28 last December which supposedly doesn't have a release clause so Blackburn are very much in the driving seat with that one. Also Wharton's brother Scott also plays there so I doubt he will be pushing for a move this window. Considering how much Ange seems to want Gallagher one would think that we would still priorities a move for him IF he were to become available at a reasonable fee.

Of course this all depends on PEH which I still don't see happing atm but I guess with only a few days left of the window maybe teams will start getting nervous.

Can imagine Blackburn piling on a few more million seeing how cheaply we got Phillips, maybe sweeten the deal with a no fee/wages paid loan for Donley or another youngster next season.
