Will never forget that. When he gave the penalty away I dropped my pint down walked out of the pub in silence and walked from Kings Cross to Archway ignoring phone calls from my mates back at the pub. Think I had an actual mini breakdown! It felt like the moment when all the endless and unwavering hope I had as a young boy supporting spurs through all the crap years had finally been extinguished as we were on the cusp of achieving something great. That idea of unfulfilled promise and potential is symbolic of Ledley's career I suppose. However the talent he gave us and our love for spurs will transcend those feelings as we all cheer him on and thank him for the memories tomorrow night!

I felt the same way. Just walked out of my mates house and stood in the street.

But then, I looked up and seen another Spurs fan - pretty much in tears - getting consoled by his son, who must've been 5/6. He said 'Don't worry dad, I love you'.

A shining light in a depressing moment.

Was quite surreal considering it happened in North Wales and I had never seen this guy before. Maybe I was just steaming, I dunno.

You have summed up my exact feelings and reactions at the time. I also got up and walked out as soon as I saw the foul (didn't even wait for the whistle) and sat on a park bench for a while. It was odd, it wasn't even about the loss, it was about what it represented at that time. To describe it as a mini breakdown is very apt.

Wow its nice to know I wasn't the only one having moment! ;) I wonder how many more wandering lost souls there were after that penalty!

Is anyone going B&H beforehand. I'll have a 5 yr old with me (son, not girlfriend) so I'm either going to teach him how to down a pint of Guinness or buy him a nugget meal at McDonalds, haven't decided yet.

Don't know if someone has already posted these, am nicking them all off the same twitter but here's some quotes about Ledley:

Ledley King - "This is my club. My one, and only club."

Thierry Henry: "He doesn't hold players. He will get the ball off you without you even noticing. For me, that is a good defender."

Martin Jol - "He is the best central defender I have ever seen."

Fabio Capello - "Without doubt, King is one of the best central defenders in England."

Harry Redknapp - "He is an absolute freak. Doesn't train, then turns up and plays the best 90 minutes you'll ever see. Magic."

Ledley King - "Would I have liked to have played for England more? Sure. But I'd pick a LilyWhite shirt over it all day long."

John Terry - "Ledley is a tribute to the game. I didn't mind losing that Cup final to him, he deserved it more than anyone."

AVB - "I never had the pleasure to work with Ledley, but sat with him on our Pre-Season plane. He loves Tottenham Hotspur. All of it."

Robbie Keane - "We would sit watching the dressing room door at games for him to come in, because he didn't train. He never let me down."

Paul Robinson - "I could tell you 101 things about Ledley King. All you need to know is, he defines the word 'legend'."

Luke Young, Chris Perry, Mauricio Taricco and Neil Sullivan added to the list.

So with Taricco playing none of our WC bound players will be permitted to play in case of injury. ;)

Not entirely sure what the plan is right now, i'm picking up @spursontheloose after he's finished work and heading down - depends on parking/traffic etc as to when we're getting there but isn't usually a huge problem.
