My only gripe with Lennon is that he's the same player he was 4 years ago. No development, no improvement. Never kicked on, never established himself for England, never added anything to his game. I like him, he'll always have that Chelsea game and on his day he can tear any team to pieces. It's just a shame that his days are so few and far between.

Too bad we can't morph Lennon & Siggy into one player. Lennon's pace + Siggy's right foot would be deadly.

Problem was he was unchallenged in the right wing position... obviously that`s all changed now..
however he will still be a great impact player but I think his days as a starter could be numbered unless he ups his game...

Lamela will take that RW spot, and can see Lennon beeing behind Townsend to this season. Townsend is younger, on a cheaper contract, better end product and more flexible than Lennon.

Always liked Lennon, but he might find it hard to get a game this season so def a player i could see us listening to offers for.

if lennon leaves il be livid, We really missed him today. He would supply soldado with chances rather than simply cutting in and shooting. If we replace him with ince it would honestly start undoing our good work from the window. Why are we giving up all our pace.

People forget how brilliant Lennon can be on his day. Would rather keep Lennon than Townsend.

That's tough. I'd preferably keep both of them. I'd love to see Townsend get more time on the left as well. He's got an accurate left foot and his crosses are decent with it. Townsend has got to be on super cheap wages and if he puts together a good season his value could really go way up given his age and being a (now) England international.

Wait why would we replace him with Ince? Wouldn't we then be unbalanced with 3 RW players (Towns/Lamela/Ince)

Yeah, he's better on the right. If anything, he'd probably replace Townsend. And, obviously that'd be incredibly weird given Townsend's only a year older and has EPL experience. But the rumor about this deal is that he would return to Blackpool for the season. And again, that's weird as I would hope if the buy-to-loan option was the way we wanted to go we would look to a side like Cardiff that already put in a bid for him.

Lennon is VITAL to us IMO.

Bit worried by AVB casting aside BAE, Lennon and Ade.

In fairness Lennon is actually injured.

Which is actually nothing new. I was hoping that having Townsend around to spell him could help him keep fit and injury free, but it's already too late for that.

Yep, I thought Townsend was all pace and no brain.

Even then, I didn't notice his pace much in the second half.

Personally, I think this was too big a game for him. Had Lennon been fit, I would much rather have seen him on the right than Townsend. Don't get me wrong, I really want Townsend to succeed, but I don't think he's good enough for us to consider selling Lennon just yet.

Lennon provides natural width, that none of our other wingers seem capable of, yesterday's game was a prime example, had Lennon been on the pitch there would've been more space in centre of the pitch thus more chances created. If we loose Lennon, it would be one of the worst transfers we would have done in years. I like our other options, at the moment Townsend is learning as s Chadli, we would be insane to get rid of him.

But this is what we should thrive on, I want to see Lennon with fire up his ass, he hasn't had that ever at Spurs, always a starter. Also if I'm AVB I'd need to keep Lennon, why get rid of traditional winger who can change games instantly Lennon off the bench yesterday would have had a effect.

Yep we sadly missed him, not just for his attacking play either but for the defensive work he does protecting Walker and after yet another woeful performance Walker needs all the help he can get
