4-4-2 at home is the way forward for Spurs

So Poch has now complained about size of the playing surface. Something I alluded to in my original post. And why I think we can get away with playing 2 strikers at home. Especially one that drops deeper as adebayor does.
I'd love to see Kane and Soldado given a go together.

  • Adapt to those problems encountered, relaxing your approach/belief, to perform better in the immediate... hoping to naturally find a way and perhaps form an even better "proven-to-be-suited-to-you" philosophy as opposed to someone else's ideal that may not ever be obtained.

What a fantastic post.

For a bit of bathos-some may remember that an intruder got into George Harrison's house saying he was going to kill him. George was saying to him peace, man, Hare Krishna. The incident reached a conclusion when his wife smashed a poker over the intruder's head and knocked him out.

Thank you and a great illustration of the point.

Poch comes in an spouts philosophy and a long term plan. Just like AVB did. Neither are necessarily wrong. Guardiola has a philosophy of play too. But there's part of you that knows you'll write off the next few years (if they last that long) and another smaller part that doubts it'll ever get where they plan it to be. Meanwhile other teams are playing to their strengths, winning and taking Spurs place near the top.

Options are limited with what he can do. Change defensive personnel. Rotate central middfield. Play one or two of 3 strikers we have. Given how poor Lennon and Townsend have been its hard to see who challenges ErikSen Lamela and chadli for their places.

442 worth a go tonight? 4411 even. Lennon and Townsend play as wingers. Kane playing of soldado. Stambouli Dembele in middle. Strong enough to win surely.

First of all my front 6 was spot on. Thanks Poch.
I know it's only Brighton but 2 strikers at whl works wonders.

I don't think this is a bad idea, but a lot is going to depend on which two strikers are picked, what kind of opposition we're facing, and what our midfield arrangements are.

I think there was some value in sticking to the desired 'Plan A' while waiting for players to learn it - changing it then is just self-defeating - but we seem to have a reached a point where changing it is desirable and against opposition we dominate it seems to work fairly well.

I think, and I didn't expect to feel this way, that a lot depends on Kane if two strikers is going to work for us.

You could keep the same back 5 and midfield 2 and just rotate the 3-1 with the 2-2 depending on the situation, which might be the way to flex without causing too much disruption.

Seems to be showing promise. Early days I know, let's see how it goes tomorrow against Palace, but I think Poch has figured out 2 strikers is the way to go at home. We finally look like a team playing to win.
