I've not really been paying attention to the whole 5th place CL spot, so of course ignoring that we would want Bayern to win but do we need arsenal to win tonight to help with the extra spot should we need it?

It's pretty much England v Germany for the 2nd extra spot. With West Ham drawing Leverkusen it's still up in the air. Technically Bayern winning would be a negative for a PL 5th spot but it's still an easy call wanting Bayern to win IMO.

If we need 5th in CL, then an arsenal win helps, as will almost guarantee we finish above Germany

Arsenal going out still might be ok, as currently very little between Germany in 2nd and England 3rd (Italy first) but England have 5 clubs to Germany's 3 still in.

Ideal for me is that they contrive to not win this eminently winnable tie that they're favourites for and that it puts the shits up them. Then we get 4th anyway so the coefficient business makes no difference. Hope they have a miserable night.
