Want a top team at home first game. We'll be up for it and if we get the victory then it will really kick start our campaign. As for what I don't want then that would be an away game against a lesser team or promoted team. I'm convinced if we played in one of those first game we'd do our usual pathetic opening day display.
I want Liverpool at home. Suarez and Sturridge missing as well would be a bonus.
Liverpool away, with those two missing, it'd be a game we could win.
Exactly. That was the point of my OP.You al seem to be forgetting that until September 1st, we won't have anything like our best team available as we won't have finished assembling it.

Swansea away does seem to be doing the rounds
but there is also one of us away Man City then away at Arsenal
think its all plop
With a little calculating, you could probably predict who we will have for the first game of the season, or at least narrow it down to 3/4 teams.

Well we won't get another London team, so that rules out Arsenal, Chelsea, Palace, Fulham and Spam. It won't be Newcastle because we had them first last season. Spurs v Man Utd probably constitutes too big a game to have on the opening day, and although we've had both Shitty and Liverpool as opening day fixtures in recent seasons let's apply that to them too. I doubt we'll get Villa as we always seem to be paired with them around Boxing Day/New Year.
Which leaves Cardiff, Everton, Hull, Norwich, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea and West Brom. Just under half the league. Any reasons to rule any of them out?
