You say that but how many goals have come from him on his side in recent weeks? Luton OG, Johnson v West Ham and Forest OG. That's just the last three games and I believe he has had more before that as well with a couple goals too. And if not for saves Johnson would have had a couple more in the past week.

Sorry but to say he usually produces NOTHING is a ridiculous statement. From minute one in the previous three games he has been our most dangerous player despite his flaws.
Him being as you say "our most dangerous player" speaks volumes IMO for the quality and performances of our other attackers.

He isn't good enough if we want to progress next season. We need someone who knows where the goal is would be a good start.

We are clearly going to keep him.

He’s first choice now. 15m? No brainer.

Him and Johnson only two wide players who clearly fit system. We will sign an upgrade or two, but Timo will be here

Then wouldn’t it be the other attackers that needs replacing? It’s strange when you want to replace one player while you also acknowledge that the quality and performance of the other attackers are more of a problem.

That cross he put in towards the end of the game was sensational. Shame everyone was on their heels in the box as it was probably the best cross of the game. All it needed was a small touch and it would have been a great goal.

Unlucky not have 2 assists yesterday, although it was a great save from their keeper on Johnson's effort.

Have we seen him play much with Richy? Would like to see what a front 3 of Johnson, Richy and Timo could do. I think Richy in the box instead of Son would create more havoc.

Still no questions to me over whether we should sign him or not, outright yes. 6 goal contributions in 11 games is good output for someone who only joined in January.

He's a good option right now from the start, and if we sign someone better in the summer he's a good rotation option, we'll need that with European football next season.

I can't wait to see what he can do against a team that comes at us too, we've basically been playing against parked buses since he joined.

Absolute no brainer!! How any questions this based on his output so far (3 assists in last 3 games and plenty of other chances created). 15 million to add a current starter with a top attitude who can be rotated in and out when needed is a no brainer.

Werner might not be having the desired impact line a Ginola or prime Son, but for a £15m punt, he is doing well. If we get the ball to him quick enough and players make the run into the box, he is dangerous.... How many own goals from his crosses? He is placing them beautifully.

And don't forget, we will likely sign another left winger anyway so he will be a good back up too.

I didn't want him at the club either, still don't think he technically good enough, but his pace and knowing half of his job is doing decent

Decent pace , can cross with his left even though naturally right footed so expect some wayward crossing sometimes. Seems a perfect signing at the price , in the event of injuries & bans can also be back up for striker or RW if needed.
Should find out in June what Ange thinks which is the most important thing , if he is going to stay or not .

The only question is "can we sign someone for better than him for £15m".
The obvious answer is no, and personally we need to let a whole lot of other players leave first before letting Werner go back to RBL.

Sessegnon, Gil, Ndombele, Rodon, Spence, Reguilon & Tanganga.

Then you have the players who most likely want to leave in Hojbjerg & Lo Celso.

There is a lot of work still to be done in this squad and personally I think bringing Werner in is a great option for us to have, especially considering we will have European football next season.

Could we find someone more productive in the role? Probably, and we should be looking for that person too, but they'll need time to acclimatise to the team and the league. For me the LW spot next season should be Timo + A N Other.

Defo keep. But not as a starter. He's shown that he's a constant threat and is very direct which I'm sure Ange really likes and I would expect him to be used quite a lot next season when we have CL football!

We won't get a better player than him for less than £50m in the current market. He's doing everything right except in his finishing and he fits the system superbly.

100% keep.

He is helping us way more in this final stretch than the likes of Kulusevski, Bissouma and Maddison. Get him in Summer plus 1 or 2 others and we'll be able to compete in multiple competitions. After him we need someone with elite potential who is good in 1v1 situations.

One thing he did again yesterday is he went outside on to his left foot several times.

I give him massive credit for this as so many inverted wingers refuse to go outside on their weaker foot and become too predictable. Werner is willing to go outside which makes him harder to defend against despite him being a bit limited technically and a bit rigid with his dribbling style.

You’re probably right, but the prospect of going into next season with Werner/Richy/Johnson all regularly starting matches would be a bit disappointing. At least two of them are probably at the peak of their powers now, given their age.

In the past we had combinations like Dele/Kane/Son and Bale/Lennon/Crouch(Defoe, Adebayor etc) as well as Eriksen and Van der Vaart in the Maddison role.

Obviously Kane and Bale walk into the current team but prime Dele and Lennon do too I think.

I appreciate it’s a different set up but I think we are missing that bit of magic which players like Bale, Lennon and Dele brought to the team. I don’t think Werner really helps us with that very much, although I do agree he’s good value at £15m and his contribution has been good.

I suppose I’m just worried we’re still a bit predictable up front. It’s possible Johnson steps it up next season and we sign another player with a bit of that magic about them, in which case I think Werner would be a very solid signing. But I think with the current crop the way they are (plus say another equivalent) we probably have a ceiling of the top four.

I think it would be a smart signing to keep Timo.

He'll have had a hopefully good end to this season and the benefit of a full pre-season (unless he gets called up for the Euro's) to further build on.

Obviously, there are things he needs to work on but I for the overall package of good attitude, pace, delivery and price for the deal, I think it's an easy decision IMO.

Considering he is terrible at shooting wouldn't he be more effective playing off the right with his crossing?
