Piastri looking fast at home, pleased for him, but the Ferraris look fantastic, Sainz in particular.

Some of them kerbs are ruthless though, I guess qualifying they have to go full send but in the race I expect we'll see a lot of drivers going wide if they miss a turn, rather than damage the car trying to ride the kerb.

Every day it becomes clearer & clearer why Lewis announced he was off to Ferrari when he did & didn’t even give Merc a chance. Everything Merc do just makes the car worse. Doesn’t seem like they know the car well at all. Mercedes is a mess. Toto needs to just clean house at this point. They are fighting with Aston Martin for 4th. McLaren are well ahead in 3rd.

Riccardo needs to quit. The only driving job I’d give him at Redbull next season is on the delivery trucks or those little promo RB smart cars.

It is increasingly looking like Danny can only drive one type of car and if the car is any different he is going to struggle. On top of that he is completely one of those drivers that when he is "on" his game he is the Danny Ric everyone remembers, but he is "off" he is just absolute garbage. His time spent "on" seems to be becoming fewer and further between and lasts a far shorter period. Once he starts moping (and he will) i imagine RB will have to drop him and bring in Liam Lawson full time.

Nice to have a winner that's not a red bull, what a snooze-fest though. A few anomalies but otherwise broadly team-by-team down the finishing order, says a lot about how this season is shaping up competition-wise.

Used to really like Russell before he joined Mercedes. Since then he’s showed he’s a bit overrated. Petulant and stupid when things aren’t going his way.

Stewards are taking a look at that apparently. I'd just assumed Russell had gotten desperate and twatted himself into the wall like he's done previously, but seems like there's a suggestion Alonso was a bit naughty with the braking into the corner. Will be interesting to see what they make of it, and whether it's the former or the latter scenario.

Seeing Sainz go about his business like this makes you question why on earth Ferrari are replacing him with Lewis Hamilton....

???

Are they saying Alonso braking as heavy as he did was deliberately intended to cause Russell to avoid him? I assumed he had missed his braking point or something and it was a cock up. Doesn't seem like the kind of thing he'd be guilty of, really.

I’d suggest that missing the braking point on the last lap is something that Alonso would not do … meaning it was more likely intentional than not. Shame for Russell.

Carlos Sainz - only non-Red Bull driver to win an F1 race since 2022... and he is out of a seat at the end of the year.

I suppose this also means Alonso does not want the open Merc seat…
Must be hard having these customers outperforming the works-team. A convenient scapegoat would be welcome under the circumstance...

He might come across as a bit dour, but he's one of the top 4-5 drivers out there. Mercedes should pick him up quickly as he can really help them develop the car - more so than the present crew imo...
And Red Bull could make a strong line-up even stronger by dropping Perez for Sainz. It’s inconceivable at any rate that he won't land a new drive...

I thought the same but then you see the telemetry against the three previous laps and it’s clear that he intentionally braked early.

Or he did and he just found out that it's not on - either way, Alonso never struck me as that sort of driver, very peculiar.

Maybe he just doesn't like the silent movie era and every time he sees George Russell he hears distant piano music play and his vision goes black and white. Honestly, when will they own up and admit he's a time traveler from the 1920s? Look at him. Look at his face.

I rest my case.
