The glass half full view is that four out of our next five is at home and that we don't play a traditional big six team in the next 10 games (if Chelsea gets pushed that far forward).

Brentford (H)
Everton (A)
Brighton (H)
Wolves (H)
Palace (H)

Within the 10 games, we can really solidify a top 4 spot and best case scenario we have a chance of still being in the title race in April.
Especially with Maddison and Sonny coming back.

Now Chelsea have made the CC final, whats the betting our rearranged fixture is plumped right in the middle of our tough run in April.

Probably in between City and Arsenal ffs lol.
Better hope Denverspur doesn't see this post... not allowed to talk about football results in the wrong thread! ;)

(just jokes Denver)

Possibly not as neither club have European football so a few blank weeks. Unless UEFA block it

Wetspam drawing by my calculations means 6-5-5 will get us 5th at worst now. Wow...wouldn't have expected that back in the summer.

Are you rainman?

We can afford 5 loses and will still get 5th?

Fuck the FA Cup, if we manage to finish Top 3 and above Legohead heeee that will make my summer and would be rather sensational given expectations for both before the season!!

It would be priceless just to see Merson's and Keown's faces 🤣

Knew we weren’t ever really in a title race this season but the last few matches and performances have shown clearly we are in a tough battle for 4th with Villa and possibly one other team is someone below us puts a run together.

United look to be getting into form. Can’t see the others being a threat.

When everyone is healthy and in full form we are 3rd best team. Right now 4th or 5th and lucky that we don't have any other competitions to focus on.

We have some improvement to do when it comes to going away to midtable sides.

Brentford - Draw
Wolves - Loss
Brighton - Loss
Everton - Draw

We lost on xG in all of them.

I had us down for 8th or 9th at thw beginning of the season anything above that is bonus territory. We should make top 4 though when Son, Bissouma & Sarr fully back or atleat make a good fight for it.

Postecoglou seems to battle prepping his team when he has 2 games in a week.

As many have said getting Europe (CL or EL) is a bonus this season. This is the start of a big rebuild and for it be going so well so early is wonderful but unexpected.

The test will be next season. If we are in Europe, which is likely, its gonna add another dimension to our plans and more wear and tear on the lads. If we are to compete at those levels we will really need a squad that can deal with it.

This season was a write-off from the start, as I didn't think we would be so competitive immediately. I think 4th is a realistic target and something we can achieve, but I won't be too downbeat if we don't manage it. Football has improved significantly this season, and this is a long-term project. I'll have higher expectations starting next season

Think it’s a toss up between us and Villa for 4th and 5th.
If you do a ranking of most minutes played for us and Villa, we have 5 and they have 10 players in the top 15.

If we get near normality in terms of absences I think we will comfortably finish above them.

That’s a big if though. We need our players back asap, but there’s not saying others won’t get injured in the mean time.

Well anything can happen of course, but we've had an unprecedented amount of absentees for 13 out of 23 games this season and are level with points with Villa.

Surely that gives as more than a toss up, when the current key players missing aren't injured but will soon comeback from internationals?
