He was far too slow to make the pass, but we had quite a few players that seemed more interested in getting a free kick than making the quick pass. Lot of growth to come, which is exciting.

2 mistakes that led to 2 goals... but also played his part in 2 goals as well...

good thing is that he is still learning, and will grow from this.

Was poor tonight overall, not sure if he’s tired but he seemed to sleepwalk through the game a bit. When he got his goal I’d hoped he’d woken up and would go back to his usual high quality, then unfortunately he made the next mistake for their second.

In a way it’s a credit to him and how good he’s been at such a young age that we expect such a level of quality from him already, so when he has games like this it notices more, but as others have said, it’s very out of character, he’s young and I’m sure next game he’ll be back to his brilliant best.

“Mistakes will happen mate. He's a young man learning the game. He worked hard, he was instrumental in the first goal, driving through and obviously he scored. Just his drive and he continues to present himself. I've got no issues with Destiny and I thought he was good. He made a mistake but you know what I've made more mistakes today like that, let alone in a career.”

I think these were exactly the mistakes every young defender must do in his learning process.

It's called polishing.

We are having a gem in him, trust me.

He’s so good we don’t expect mistakes like this from him, but he’s still very young and still learning.

He was like a young Kyle Walker tonight. No he wasn’t shagging anything that moved, and he doesn’t quite have the same pace, but the two brain farts were reminiscent of Walker.

He’ll get better.

His distance covered, link up play from defense to mid, and mid to the box was epic. Probably our best on ground. But equally his brain farts were huge.

He so gets a hall pass from me though, he’s such a weapon!!

I guess I just don't like to see 1-2 moments define an entire game - I see too many people talking about a "poor game"

Udogie made some big mistakes - but overall, I thought he played well enough. You can't ignore the mistakes, but you can't also ignore all the positive contributions he made either. Not just the goal, but made a number of positive contributions through out the match.

I’m one of his biggest fans but at elite level giving two goals away from mistakes is a poor game tbf, he also scored and played some great football. Just lucky we won and can just call it a learning curve. 😉

Udogie has been amazing this season and we all love him, but his high profile mistakes need to come down a bit.

Two big ones today. West Ham's winning goal back pass. Back pass against Arsenal to Jesus where Vicario bailed him out. Hit his own post with a header against United when unchallenged. Silly second yellow card against Chelsea which took us out of the game.

Again, he has been a revelation this season but needs to learn from his mistakes going forward. Easier today with the win.

Two moments never define a game - unless that is all you played.

Again - can't pretend they did not happen, but don't discount all of the positive impacts he made on the game also.

1 Goal
2 Key Passes (Werner and Maddison had 3)
2 tackles (tied for most)
3 interceptions (most)
6 clearances (most)
2 aerials won (2nd)

I’m not discounting all the positives, just pointing out when you make two errors leading to the opposition scoring it’s a pretty poor game. I think he would admit that himself but not getting carried away with it, he’s young and still learning. I’m just happy it happened in a game where we got the 3 points and people won’t focus too much on it.

He’s a great player and probably been one if not the best Full backs in the league this year. Has the potential to be world class in my opinion.

I went back and re-watched the 2nd half. Udogie was very good - save for the back pass.

Not just the goal, but played an important part in the 3rd goal as well - carrying the ball upfield before getting it to Maddison, whose shot was deflected for Richarlison. He also made a lot of important runs with and without the ball - and defensively he was sound.

And even on his cockup - it was VdV who immediately pointed for Udogie to pass it back to Vicario. Udogie did not look - like he should have, and so must accept that responsibility - but I don't think he makes the pass if his teammate had not pointed.

Their first goal: these things happen.

Second one: a complete freak incident. I mean, their goaly had just launched the ball forward, Udogie wins the header, then it comes straight back to him. He's near the half way line and the safe ball is usually back to Vicario. Plenty of pace on it too. I don't think anyone realised Toney was still behind Vicario until it was too late. Almost like a goal hanger special in six-a-side game, and possibly only because Toney was absolutely flagging at that point. Freak goal.

Udogie definitely wasn't at his imperious best today but still had some class moments and was key to two of our goals. Onwards and upwards etc, and keep learning.

Perhaps it is me but does he have a tendency to be a bit short with a lot of his passes ? They do quite often seem to lack enough weight.

Very unlucky with Brentford's second goal but otherwise OK IMO.

He clearly didn't see Toney and it wasn't that he didn't see him across the line he was on the byline, I didn't see him and I'm not even sure Vicario knew he was there.
If they'd been wearing their red and white shirts he'd have probably seen him.
I still thought he was good tonight.

Just saw another angle of his pass back and VDV pointed at him to pass it back. Didn't notice that live when watching it but you would expect a player without the ball to have a better idea what's going on.
Thankfully his mistakes didn't cost us but this is the sort of thing you get with young players. He is a beast of a footballer and will only get better and better. What a signing

When your 21 year old left back scores a goal on his bad games then I think he's doing just fine
