I hope the marketing team are on form when Bale signs and like with Doherty have him not holding up the shirt but a flag that says “Spurs. Wales. Golf. In That Order”. Great trolling of RM.

It'll be longer than 1 year, reckon we'll get him permanently next year.

Levy definitely worked some stuff into this deal.

If anything, an initial 1 year loan works more in our favour.

I'm sure he's going to come back and be great, but IF he doesn't perform as we want and the whole thing was a big waste of time then we won't be stuck with him.

Having said that, I really do believe he's going to be a very important player for us and hopefully for a few years! :D

Ceefax was the glory days. Transfer rumours followed by Bamboozle.

302 Football, 316 Football Rumours (I think?)

First transfers I remember on there were Rasiak and Murphy.. Also remember begging my dad to ring the numbers that charge you £1.50 a minute that would tell you who spurs were going to make a sensational swoop for  tight bastard never let me ring, so never managed to find out..

To add something on topic.. just finished watching Gareth Bale Premier League icons, he really did score some screamers for us.

1.year loan is perfectly fine, we should have a lot of games for him to play in and I’m sure there will be an option to stay if it goes well like Ceballos at goons.

being annoyed it’s only 1 yr loan is like going on a honeymoon to Mauritius for 10 days and being like ah yea but its not two weeks is it? No but it’s still a bloody epic holiday be grateful and happy about it you miserable masochists.

Feel like I might cycle past the training ground tomorrow morning. I'm not even sure why.
Make sure you stop to say hi to this guy:

I'm sure we will have plenty of options to make permanent or re-loan next year if suits both parties. Just enjoy Bale back at Spurs!

I suppose he will also be within the last year of his contract by then allowing for a different situation.

The crowd will be behind him & he hasn’t had that for ages. That might play a part when he decides what to do after this year. Who knows tho, let’s enjoy it. It’s a bit surreal.

As happy as I am that Bale is coming back I’m not sure about all this coming home and I place I want to be business. Can’t remember Bale saying anything about us since he left and he forced his move through by basically going on strike.
Spurs are simply Bale preferred choice out of the options available which is still great to be honest but let’s not pretend it’s anything more than that

I'm not sure - it's like Teddy. You want to win things, you move, you win things... You discover that clubs who win things aren't necessarily clubs with compassion, or fans full of love. You question why you're still playing. You get the chance to go back, having won things, satisfied that what you now want is that feeling of being adored or cherished.

He *could* still go on to be the type that is well looked after by us long after he hangs up his boots, rather than tossed aside whilst still fit and available.
