Lille had a 25m bid rejected according to a few sources, I've seen they're looking for around 40m.
I actually meant 20m, but typo'd. Either way it'll be much more than 20m required and I'm not sure we'll pay that at the moment.

Take everything he says with a mountain of salt and it’ll be much easier. He says we’re signing 2 strikers then literally an hour later we’re signing no one. Honestly, he’s someone who probably should be left to player threads only for now until he either a) is verified or b) stops tremendously oversharing and overreacting.

Well if it turns out we actually are in for Daka / end up signing him, at least we'll know for sure...

Nah he’s had one good season playing in the Austrian league. He’s talented but until he’s consistently proven himself in a tougher league he can’t command 40m+.

I get that, but everyone can see his potential and his stock is high at the moment, can't see them selling for less than 35m

Yeah, price would likely be £30-£35 million Euros more than likely. Hoowever, every transfer we pull off, i.e. Doherty and Hojbjerg we always think the fee is going to be a lot higher, but when the details come out when signed it is less than expected. Who knows.

Haaland, Minamino, Keita, Kampl and Mane are just names that played in the Austrian league that no one "heard of"...

And none of these players were expensive. Don’t see why that should massively change here and why prices would suddenly double during the pandemic.

Naby Keita went to Liverpool over two years ago for £55 million. That’s expensive.

He was also playing for RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga, not RB Salzburg in Austria.

So there's an inflation for playing in a better league right there.

I like the look of Daka, but not for 40 million. There’s too small a sample size against too questionable a quality of defender for fees like that. Bergwijn was 27 (I think? Certainly sub 30) coming off 3 seasons of very good numbers in a much better league at around the same age.

Daka would be the signing the club needs.

I feel we need a signing the club can be excited about. Just like Sonny, Bergwijn and even Ndombele of which thats not quite worked out.

He's certainly our profile but these deals are so difficult to do..

careful. Your sounding like Levy and Hitchen now!
