I miss lockdown. Levy is literally to blame for all of this. All his decisions and tightness the last 3 years led to this. Such great promise ruined because Levy cant fucking see an opportunity if it hit him in the face.

And he was backed up by a lot of people on this forum.

This shit united team are in a champions league spot, and we only lost the three points on a penalty, what exactly are you talking about?

They‘re fifth and shit. And they could’ve scored another if we’re being honest. We should’ve been the team to really chase a goal in the last minutes

Really love your optimism. But almost a full strength team to choose from and two, three weeks of like a pre-season but some guys are still lacking in movement and spirit..
What's the point in not being optimistic? I wasn't too keen on him coming admittedly but he's here now so I'm going to remain open minded until such time as Levy decides that he's had enough. What's the point of getting wound up when we've got no say in what goes on?

Soon as I saw it was Winks and Sissoko in midfield I'd knew we'd struggle. We desperately need a dedicated defensive midfielder in this team.

Not the most inspiring cm partnership but on today’s game thought they did well

That was typical Mourinho today..it was the same when he was at Utd. No attacking threat , stay compact and bore the other team to death hoping to nick a win.

He will never change this is the style he plays and we will play. 3 months away or not that was typical Mourinho anti-football. Desperate for a playmaker like NDombele to give Kane and Son service and leaves him on the Bench.

I know it’s only game one after an extended break, but we just look so negative for large periods. There’s no confidence and no control. Utd showed far more positive intent.
I had high hopes for Mourinho, but I’ve seen no signs of him putting a different imprint on the team. Does he need further squad changes, maybe, but I have even less confidence of the right players being secured than I do of us ever keeping a clean sheet again.
Something needs to change, because we’re playing no better at all, it’s dreadful to watch, big I still do because I’m Spurs and I want us to come good. I am starting to wonder if Jose was the right appointment.

Promising first half, plan being executed well and getting its rewards.

Unfortunately, from the first whistle after the break we reverted to the rancid and cowardly nonsense. Engaging them 20-30 yards deeper, and just defending our penalty area. We haven't got the cattle to do this, just soaking up pressure in our third for huge spells, we keep seeing this, so why persist?

I'm also not very happy with Mourinho because he just buried his head in the sand there quite clearly. If you're going to play like that and cling on you need everyone putting in a shift still and the disciplined unit intact, we have Kane and Son in particular totally done for the evening at 60 mins, like playing with 9 men, and he does nothing. So we don't have everyone now getting in behind the ball in shape, and no runners or threat to go forward with. That badly needed freshening up in the second half and for the millions he pockets was a piss poor response.

I thought Dier had a good game until the penalty but overall we were disciplined but lacked any invention. Played like an underdog playing away. Not the type of football I want to see from my club, especially at home.

I thought he had a great game. Very very surprised as I had written him off.

The penalty was incredibly soft. Incredibly. Pogba didn't need to go down at all from that contact.

Dier kept us in the game I felt. V encouraging performance.

If Mourinho is going to instruct us to camp on the outside of our box for 45 minutes, take off two of our attacking outlets, have a central midfield that doesn't progress the ball and leave on our star striker who hasn't played football for 6 months and can barely move at the end as an out ball then something is eventually going to give. And it did.

I'm not a fan.

And why does he dislike Ndombele so much. Pisses me off.

My god Dier didnt need to make a challenge. The pen was harsh but when u have refs itching to give a pen dont make it easy for them. Desperatley need a new defence.

Not as bad as many are making out.
Seriously... Get a grip.
We sat back in the last 30mins and probably the wrong sub in Gedson but wasn't all that bad.
Dier, Aurier, winks and sissoko (spurs fans scapegoats) wasn't that bad.
I think we were much better than most expected.

Got a bit ragged in the second half. Thought the defence, apart from aurier towards the end were good. Thought there was evidence that Jose's message was beginning to land with the players. Overall better than I was expecting. I'm not surprised that N'Dombele didn't feature, I have seen zero evidence of him applying himself in a game yet. He needs to show this before he can start to display his undoubted quality on the ball.

Gedson over Ndombele was madness, we needed someone to keep hold of the ball and be capable of playing a killer pass.
