Rather see Donnington get a chance in the squad ahead of Dier.

It would be cool if he were called Donnington.

For those who are about to block, we salute you.

Cause I'm a back, yes I'm a back.

I defend-uh, I defend-uh, I'm giving up the role of pretender.

Don't fear the sweeper.

Not really my genre, but you get the drift...

Sadly, though, he's called Dorrington, which is a village in Shropshire, which is not quite as rocking.

Did not understand the AC/DC references - then looked up Live at Donnington - as always, well done!

My heart sank when Tremazzani went to take a throw in...
You have to take into account the cost of players. Tremazzani was £1m, or thereabouts. Sanchez was supposed to be the future of our defence. I would never boo him but you can’t not think he was a massive flop.

Tramezzani was £1million at a time when the world record transfer fee was £15million. So while he was relatively cheap, it was still a reasonable outlay. He was terrible. There’s no comparison between him and Sanchez.

Sanchez never really lived up to his fee. He did ok in a couple of spells when having to cover for injuries. That’s way more than Tramezzani ever did for us.

I’d judge Sanchez’s time here about 5 or 6 out of 10.

Nothing against him but he is not and has never been good enough. We spent £40m on him, probably the equivalent of a £60m plus player in today’s money. I could tell within first few games that he was dreadful on the ball, no idea what the scouts/Poch saw to think he was worth it.

Wish him the best but he goes down as one of our worst signings in recent times.
Oh mate., come on....

It's a decent fee, plus with N'Dombele gone too that saves a good chunk in wages and 2 non HG spots freed up.

However, we better hope Romero and VDV can stay injury free and ban free until january, can't see Dier getting any minutes whatsoever which leaves our back up options as Phillips, Davies and at a stretch Dorrington..

Atleast 1 top centre back will now be needed in january, with the whole world also knowing how desperate we are for them.

Glad that Sanchez won't be forced to play in Russia. I hated that link.

Glad that Ndombele will be somewhere else. One more year of that horrible contract to kill off.

Couldn't pass, but had a better pass completion than Vertonghen.

Very happy for him to have got a move in the end, and I think ultimately the right move for us even given the current squad situation, because ridding the squad of players with a lot of scar tissue I think has been very important in allowing us to be as brave as we have been thus far.

Best of luck, Dav 💪 Always was a big supporter of his, and it was the right time to go for both parties. Could easily see him getting a decent onward move along the line if he can perform there.

And yet you can see from your own graphic why that might be. Far fewer forward passes. Anyone can have pass accuracy if you’re passing 5 yards sideways.
It's about ratios, both sit between 34 - 36%.

Not that it matters, we all know Super Jan had a better range. However the stats show that he can pass, he just made the odd stray pass
