Absolutely this, too many attackes broke down yesterday due to wide men being too slow or wanting to cut inside. The entire front 3 not firing yet
Yep - I would try Son on the right (he's two footed so doesn't matter) and Kulu or Perisic on the left and try to get some early crosses fizzed into the box, Richarlison is a real nuisance if nothing else, with the likes of Maddison, Bissouma and Sarr following in for the second ball.

It’s still early days. We’ve only played two matches. If we keep on playing like we did second half last night Richarlison will score goals.

We have to remember that Anges system would probably have made Kane less involved in the play as well. Kane is literally a one of a kind-striker and he’s had a carte blanche to free roam at Tottenham.

Look at someone like Haaland. Last night against Newcastle he hardly touched the ball. That’s the life for the majority of number 9’s. You get 2-3 chances a match to really inlfuence the game.

Richarlison will never be Harry Kane and he probably won’t score 25 goals a season. Instead he has to be judged by his own merit. Richarlison does things in this system that Kane can’t do anymore, most notably his pressing.

Have some faith and trust the process.

Trust work both ways. We can start trusting when we see there is something there.
If pressing is the least minimum to earn trust, then Scarlett can also do the same.

There were good chances against Brentford, he failed to take it. There were 2 more half chances against United, where he was slow to.

May be he will come good one day - But with no other strikers in squad (except young Veliz), can we trust Richy for 38 games ?

People are obsessed with replacing Kane with another 30 a season striker whilst also creaming themselves about Brighton who’s top scorer last season scored about 10.

We’ve scored 4 goals into two matches versus two very competent teams. As you say, who cares where the goals are coming from.

Let's see if you're saying the same in 3 weeks time if Richy still hasnt scored and the window is shut. Hopefully he is banging them in by then, but if not, it is a problem.

I still think Toney is perfect for us and even more so after watching the first two games. We'd have to muddle through until January though.

Totally agree.

It’s ok for now but with Kulu and Sonny not really firing either as well as Richy we absolutely need to sign another striker and RW even if it’s just Orban a young exciting talent off the bench to compete with Richy.

If we buy Orban he either needs a loan somewhere else first to get PL ready or he has to come in and start a load of games, which wont happen.

Despite what I said above, if we can get Toney in January, I'd muddle through and wait till then and even give Scarlett a go. He has bulked up quite a bit and could play that role. Worth a go I recon if that is the route we go down.

Alejo Véliz in the squad or has he been loaned out?

Maybe Toney would be great for us but you’re literally basing it on one good season. The season before he scored 12. The rest of the time he’s been in the Championship and lower.

Should we pass judgement on him after two matches? Seriously,
of you are just looking for a scapegoat regardless if we’re playing well. You’re talking like he had a disastrous display last night, which just isn’t true.

Richy has shown he can score goals in a poor Everton team and he does it regularly for Brazil. Those merits have earned him the right to make that number 9 spot his own.

By all means I’m all for boosting our forward line but don’t write players off after the season has hardly started.

I'd like to see him and Sonny switch positions as I feel that may work out better for both players.

Son looks wasted on the wing to me, I’d put Richie out wide and try Son in the middle

Let’s see how it goes, but remember teams like Barcelona and city before didn’t rely on strikers and played with a false 9.

I thought he was atrocious physically yesterday, falling over constantly, rarely holding the ball up and losing challenges. I don't expect him to be a Kane like goal machine but I do expect him to hold up that side of his game fat better.

As for the movement and service I wasn't in the stadium so you can't really see the off ball movement., If it was good then fair play as ai agree that right now the two wise men are totally unsuited to what we're trying to do.

I agree Son is done on the wing, but he can't hold the ball up and he can't occupy defenders physically. I don't think I've seen him compete for headers more than a handful of times.

I think Son is basically on a sharp decline now and Richi just isn't a great fit.

IMO we need a top CF in ASAP.

Trouble with Son in the middle is he coughs up possession way too much and isn't good with his back to goal. He's OK there if we're counter attacking but that isn't how we play now.

Richarlison made some brilliant runs and took up some great positions but just wasn’t found by a supplier. They really need to work on that.

Apart from that he just isn’t get a lucky break- there were lots of deflections and loose balls in the area and it just wouldn’t run for him. I’m sure he knows the harder you work the luckier you get so he’ll have his head down in training.

He’s often more concerned with winning a foul than driving into box where we need him. Rolling around on the floor like he’s been shot is embarrassing. I can’t get on board with it.

What might help if people stop comparing him to Kane.
He Is never going to be that player. I would be very happy if Kane’s goals were spread amongst the rest of the team and we win like yesterday.
Richarlison will get goals.

I can’t remember a system where we looked good with Son up top. We had a period where we effective punting the ball up and relying on his pace but the football was route one dross.
