Not to my knowledge. There was a very tenous mention of Douglas Luiz at some point a few weeks ago but I can’t recall anything else (and can’t fathom Villa letting Luiz go regardless)
would be very interesting to pick Ange’s brain on how he sees this.

Be interesting if this results in us bringing in a CM/AM. A few weeks ago Gallagher and Veiga were supposedly his replacements. More recently there’s been talk of Luiz and possibly even Scott. I’m not completely convinced we really need a replacement but if we end up with Scott or Veiga I won’t be upset. I guess it depends if Ange thinks we can play Gio and Maddison in midfield together. We could just keep Devine, give him the mins and put the money into a defender or wing forward.

Bentancur's injury is muddying the waters on this one. Once he's back we're pretty good in MF. I'd sooner we look for best quality at CB if we get decent money for Hojbjerg.

I agree with this and @bbunc
If Hojbjerg goes - I'd like to see a 6 come in as a replacement - even though I think that may be Bentancur's best position.
I think Maddison and Lo Celso are ideal as the creators.
I think Sarr, Skipp and Bentancur can play more of the industrious box-to-box role.
But, right now only Bissouma is a great 6. (I think Sarr, Skipp, and Bentancur could play the 6 if required, but not as effectively from a defensive point of view)
