Yes, there are too many unrealistic fans from when we overachieved under poch. I don’t think you should ever boo or turn on your players, I was at the game when fans done it to Sanchez, like that is going to help the situation.

Club needs to act more like a family, keep your business in House and defend our players.

It should be the ambition of every window to get players in before preseason. It’s rarely achievable, but it should be the objective.

Empoli 2021/22 : Back in serie A after winning promotion in 20/21

Goals scored - 50
Goals conceded - 70
League position -14
Only 2 other teams in league conceded more than them

Empoli 2022/23 :

Goals scored - 37
Goals conceded - 49
League position -14
Just 6 goals more conceded than top4 Milan.

So, its pretty clear, especially last season, Empoli were so defensive. They scored less & they conceded less to maintan same league spot.

To assess, How did Vicario play out from back, Why does Vicario push the shot into middle...does he come out for crosses ? All these are irrelevant questions.

When you have a team that only wants to defend at the back....and they defend in the box.... GK doesnt need to come out for crosses often as mostly it dealt by the 3CBs in front. GK will so many shots on goal, so there will be some shots spilling into center - its inevitable.

If you are going to assess Vicario at Empoli, then assess his shot stopping only. Everything else cannot be judged from his spell

Our scouts have made the call, lets hope they are right. We can only wait & see him in flesh. Then judge him fairly

But Vicario’s record at stopping crosses doesn’t vary too greatly from Lloris’s. The Italian stopped 5.6 per cent last season; Lloris has averaged 4.7 per cent over the last six seasons.
