First loan of his career so wouldn’t be worried just yet, Parrott is more the concern, not sure his contract situation but needs to do well on loan this year or we need to be selling imo.

Out of curiosity how much are these young lads roughly getting money wise? No idea what the going rate is for talented youngsters nowadays.
Okay pal, it’s a standard national apprenticeship wage for the majority, potentially an extra few quid for some, so standard scholarship rate is around the 680 quid a month, goes up in year 2 and then again in year three if offered.

mon top of that is appearance, win and goal bonus too.

my lad, for u18, he’ll get a minimal 10 quid per appearance and 10 quid per win.

for u21, 650 an appearance and another bit of money per point won.

mid he gets in first team squad, it’s around 1200 for squad, then another grand per point won in that game.

cups slightly different.

so in reality, he could potentially earn 5k if he makes first team and they win.. for one game, but long way to go for him, especially after finding girls and clubs this summer 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the reply. I honestly had no idea, i just assumed it must be awash with money like the rest of the game. Good to see they're not given too much too soon. Although i'd imagine there must be ways around it for the really sought after lads.

They'll sign pro contracts as soon as they turn 17.

the responses about players going on loan is exactly why loans are not always beneficial to boys - he has gone out on loan as a teenager to play in mens football in side which underperformed had a change of manager is it any wonder that he never scored hat fulls . People go on about loans continually they do not always aid a players development and in some cases do harm to the players confidence technical development and in a few cases have been dam right harmful

Scarlett you would hope would have got benefits from the loan but supporters as soon as a young forward doesn't bang them in the seeds of doubt are in place

Portsmouth fans were very pleased with Dane's loan. He might not have scored as many as you'd like, but in terms of development and general play it sounds very much like it was a success.

Not every loan will be like Skippy at Norwich.

They may or not may not "smash it", but it will help them mature, realise how lucky they are to be at Spurs and hopefully fuel that desire to succeed. I think Parrot, Scarlett etc will all have learnt more about themselves and the men's game than if they'd just been training around our first team but still playing youth football.

A big factor for a lot of our lads, in terms of income, will be sponsorships which will include free gear as well as cash. Ramell Carter for example has had wads of cash thrown at him over the last five/six years due to various brand partnerships, sponsorships and commercial work.

Spurzino mate. What are your thoughtful insights regarding RC? As I would be biased.
