He has Ramon Vega's backing!

Since when did Vega appoint himself as a man who should be listened to?

A few dissenting voices is all there were, like with any appointment. All he's going is stoking the fires of negativity. You'd think with how bad a defender he actually was he would have a bit more self awareness.

The fact that this is already talking about transfer targets when we still don't have a DoF does suggest to me that we might not even be looking anymore. I know its just one article but I can completely see the club ether putting it on hold or ignoring it all together for this window at least. Especially as Ange is known for being quite specific over targets.
I shared a video earlier today and referenced that he came into Celtic and basically had almost full control of the transfers and didn't really have any huge asks in terms of spend etc he just had confidence he'd get what he needed and that he can find players from the Asian Market and/or the scouting network can show him e.g. 10 Right Wingers and he will know they're all good players in different ways but the key for him is understanding what they're like as a person/character and then deciding because of that.

We may well go with a DofF but it seems like Big Ange will be quite hands on when it comes to the player recruitment.

Unreal that Puskas coached Big Ange, he said that it was rare at that time to play with wingers as everyone else was playing 4-4-2. Ange says he takes bits from lots of different influences, Puskas, Dutch Total Football Team, Pep etc etc, likes possession football, likes attacking football, likes playing with wingers and excitement.

WLB said we would appoint a DOF ‘in due course’.

I reckon we’ll still get one but we already have a recruitment team in place so it’s sensible to start making moves in the meantime.
I always stick ‘in due course’ into my work emails when I’m not planning on providing detailed comments for a while….

I feel more excited by this appointment than Jose's
It feels a different type of excitement doesn't it like a kind of cosy feels more right excitement rather than Jose was like this could be incredible but also have we sold our soul to the devil and will we be regretting the fall-out for a few years to come, which ended up being the case.

Very excited about this as Big Ange will bring the feel good factor back to the club and that is what it is all about.

I don't, but I think there are many factors at play here.

He's just won the treble and has had success at other lesser levels.
He appears to be a good coach and man manager wherever he has been.
He plays front foot entertaining football.
He's charismatic which will help with the press.
He won't have crazy player demands.
The fans will like him as long as he gets results.
He is known by Munn.
He is represented by Caa Base.

Now you can shuffle these around into whatever order you like but I would bet you a kidney that every single point above contributed to him being appointed if/when it happens.
How many of those points you made would be considered negative?

Who else was lucky enough to take a punt on Ange at 25/1 when Munn was appointed?

Me, me, me!

I'm winning about £1300 from a 25/1 bet.

Just a shame I also took a punk on about 25 other managers throughout the 'process' too so my winnings get diminished somewhat!

Agree mate, this is also why I said getting the Manager in first is key because he sets the vision of how the team and squad should look, the DofF then oversees the scouts and player recruiting team to provide the Manager with what he needs for his vision and plan within the allocated budget.
