Newcastle and Arsenal are showing interest and they can offer CL who would you pick?
I suppose one might be attracted by the possibility that we can potentially offer more playing time or a bigger role to play? My concern with Maddison would be his cost considering we have a few holes to fill without relying on the funds from European qualification…

Another reason for the delay might be due to Levy listening to too many football people (agents) who are essentially marketing their clients…I feel he needs to be more decisive and trust only a select few who truly understand and appreciate Spurs DNA…
I think he was all locked in on Slot and now genuinely doesn't know who he wants. Completely back to square 1.

Reading the Sunday gossip and looking at what’s going on at Bayern Munich I have a tenuous theory that Nagelsmann will be the manager there at the beginning of the season and Tuchel will be the one available. Bayerns politics make the goings on at Spurs look absolutely normal. Just think keeping Nagelsmann on a leash while this all happens is a tad strange.

I think that’s completely plausible and more than likely. It’s why I think we may well revisit Nagelsmann and why people like Enrique might still be in with a chance as it’s said paratici, who’s said to be still speaking to levy, like him.

But in reality nobody knows what’s going on and I’m sceptical of those saying they think it will be x or y until it’s very close just because there are so many unknowns and probably so many agents trying to position their clients for our or other PL teams manager jobs.

The likes of Nagelsmann are also waiting to see what Ancelotti decides to do next.
There’s about to be a managerial merry-go-round and I expect the Super League to raise its head, which will see some other changes to the usual regimes

I think Spurs fans are loyal and passionate so it is extremely difficult for most of us to boycott various aspects of the club despite the obvious shortcomings of our board…
The first thing that needs to happen is people need to realise there’s a problem. There is still a huge majority finding excuses for levy and Enic. Once the problem has been recognised properly by the fanbase, there will be proper ways to make your feelings known. For now the best you can do is join the supporters trust and let them know how you feel. Otherwise keep finding those excuses until they desert you

I sadly don’t think we’re shopping in the manager market that’s going to be influenced by any potential changes at Madrid or Bayern. Will be the rung below that if not further 😔

Doubt anything significant will happen until Scottish cup final now. Think what you like about Ange, we’d be mad to not at least discuss it with him.

We might as well all give ourselves a few days off.

Something for me and probably others to ponder regarding Postecoglou...

Prior to the game, Guardiola seemed excited by the test, telling media: “Having watched Yokohama videos this could be the best game we play because of the way they play. Both City and Yokohama have same philosophies. It’s a pleasure to be in Japan again and hopefully the fans enjoy the football.

City won the match 3-1, with Yokohama giving a good account of themselves.

Raheem Sterling was impressed after the game, telling The World Game that “they’re probably one of the best teams” he’s seen playing out from the back.

Guardiola was effusive too, stating: “Yokohama played some incredible football and they were an incredible test for us. I knew how good they were and it was tough for us.”

Of course, the cynic in you will look at those comments from Guardiola and Sterling and suggest that it was all PR considering that The City Group own 20% of Postecoglou’s side.

And what of The City Group and their thoughts on the former Australia boss? Well, they’re big fans.

Damian Willoughby, senior vice-president of partnerships at the organisation, told The World Game last month: “Ange is a phenomenal coach and has done an exceptional job at Yokohama.

“When Manchester City played Yokohama in a pre-season game at Nissan Stadium a couple of years ago it was not only a great game for a pre-season friendly but it was hard at times to separate Manchester City from Yokohama in terms of the style of play. He is one of the leading coaches in the world.
Just a note Pep has said similar positive things about Potter yet people think he would be a disaster.

I don't want Ange, I'd prefer Enrique or Potter

Not really for this thread but to bring it back to topic, I saw the Leicester chairman after they scored a goal at the weekend high fiving people and showing he genuinely cared, Levy every single game for the last 20+ years has the exact same expression for the whole match and frankly it’s cold and a bit weird that he’s so emotionsless.

I know he’s said he’s showing respect to the opposition by not celebrating but frankly it’s just cold and odd and I think players, agents and most importantly prospective Managers are all now completely understanding what it’s like working for Levy and the culture he sends downwards and many of them are saying thanks but no thanks.

So in every possible way he is holding us back, whether is be:
-A lack of a plan and strategy and identity therefore making it difficult to identify and commit to managerial targets
-Financially by not taking ‘financial risks’ for sporting gains when it’s obvious to most football people that the ‘risk’ will pay off (Grealish,Mane,Slots buy out compensation amount etc etc)
-Putting prospective managers off because of how he treated previous Managers (sacking Jol at HT, sacking Poch arguably by some too soon, Sacking Jose before a cup final #MrLevyClub, Conte throwing Levy under the bus in a blaze of glory before he left)
-Getting too involved in transfer decisions (giving Redknapp Nelson & Saha for a title push, giving AVB his 4/5th choices instead of Moutiniho etc, N’Jie’s and Sissokos instead of Mane’s and Winjaldiums and Grealishes) selling Berbatov & Keane and starting seasons with Bent & F.Campbell
-Holding onto players we don’t need or that the manager doesn’t want or that don’t want to be here for far too long

If you’re a prospective manager and you see the above, why on Earth 🌍 would you be tempted by the job (assuming you have a decent current job or alternatives to choose from?)…

This is why this search is so painful because of one little bald man 👨‍🦲 who is completely holding us back, literally sabotaging us and sucking the soul out of our club.

Let’s see so we end up with, he’s a cat who’s had his 9 lives but he needs to pull a rabbit 🐇 out of a hat 🎩 to have any chance of getting the fans vaguely back on side which is probably impossible now as he’s run out of chances many times over.
Ah the old Redknapp excuse. He wanted Tevez at 200k a week even in those days, way out of our league. Then Gary Cahill, bidding against Chelsea in their pomp. Not a cat in hells chance.. granted the two we got were not great . No wonder he chased Redknapp. By all accounts he is a nightmare to work with, that’s why West Ham got shot Of him.
Harry has convinced everyone that but for two signings he would have won the league. Should have bought some of his mates players. Willie McKay the agent, currently languishing in HMP somewhere in England on fraud charges.
well he did buy Chimbonda twice.

One of the frustrating effects of this total fiasco is seeing the daily transfer gossip of players linked with clubs and immediately thinking , he won't touch us with a bargepole now.
Currently applies to Madison and Ward Prowse
