Naglesmann only should be the response!

I disagree. I am unsure why this would be the only response. This is the only non response. It will be another Conte situation - a compromise that never materialises... 12 months and we will be back here.

If Levy and Slot were on the same page and the issue was the compensation to Feyenoord - then just fucking pay it. Its a large sum it seems but pay it and lets carry on with the summer rebuild. I cant see many being on the same page as Levya nd the club it sees.

Dan Kilpatricks latest article
Ange Postecoglou, the Celtic boss, has emerged as a serious contender after Slot’s decision to remain at De Kuip, while Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Luis Enrique are all out of work and have been admired by Spurs at one time or other.
One bit of positive news finally.

Brendan Rodgers name has been removed from this article👍

We should try for someone like Conte, or Mourinho – wait until you see their wikipedia timelines! :woot:

But, I'm being totally serious, and @Now it's Spursonal summed it up nicely a while back, it's worth a read. If – a big IF – he is given the job, I do hope the fanbase will get behind him.

So automatically because I don't want someone from the footballing backwaters of Asia and Australia, I want another Conte or Mourinho mess? Sorry, you'll have to do better than the rhetoric that is trotted out every time someone mentions they don't want a coach with no discernible pedigree. They aren't remotely similar.

If he comes, we'll be looking for another manager within the year. Can see it coming a mile off.

I get the impression with Ange that if Levy turned down one of his transfer targets he'd just headbutt him until he agrees.

And for that reason I'm on the Ange train.

Everything seems to be about control. Which is why these convos in the manager always end up talking about levy.

These managers want control and investment at this level and we aren't prepared to do it

I 100% agree with this if fans approach the next appointment – Ange or beyond – in this manner.

I'll stop this now, because it's clear there's nothing productive to be had here; though I would suggest looking at what I shared in the previous post. It's not all bad ;)

We are half the problem, after a couple of days everyone will come round to a Rodgers or Potter appointment. It should be Nagelsmann or Slot and that’s it.
Slot (it wasnt the first choice for most people, we buy into the articles and hype)winning this poll represents that. I wouldn't say we are the problem, we are fans and want something to be hopeful, the problem is not having a expert to hire the manager or looking for amateurs reactions (us) to decide who to hire. I am tired of blindly supporting this team and will watch when i can, the only thing i will find unacceptable is another pragmatic manager. If we're not going to win things, i want some sort of entertainment for 90min, and not this awful football we've been watching for most of the last 5 years. I was Nagelsmann or bust, after that i will take anyone who wants to attack.

Yep. It's a big ol' waste of time.

The idea that we are currently better than Ange is hilarious. The guy clearly motivates and gets a team playing. At this point we should be happy he is even considering it
I love all of you disagreeing but with respect, we are being told we are being rejected left right and centre right now. So you tell me, what level are we at?!

Club using social media and their PR to test the waters with managers names. Vote against it. They are deliberately gauging fans reactions.,
Get this posted all over social media and show them the managers we actually want see if they listen

Let's wait and see. I doubt it will be him. I've read all about him before and have previously said I want a character who relates well with fans and the media, which he does, but there are too many warning signs for me compared to other candidates.

just dont get any excitement for ange, winning the league with Celtic is one easiest jobs in Europe, they were horrific in Europe this season and even worse last one

If a potential suitor to the role of Head Coach is going to demand control then he is clearly not the right fit for us, is he. This board has commented time and time again about how manager appointments like Jose and Conte were never aligned to the way we operate (and i agree), so why would be bow (again) to another head coach that also wants control of things?

In my humble opinion, the club are looking to structure things in a very specific way and are in the process of putting those pieces in place to do so. It is pointless hiring a candidate that isn't aligned just because a corner of the fanbase want to stamp their feet.

It doesn’t matter how good the next “top candidate is (I’d have been fine with AP a month ago). With each subsequent step down the choice ladder your eventual hire is going to have a shorter leash from the fans than the previous choice would have gotten. You’re cutting their legs out from under them. Fans will be quicker to say “see this guy is terrible!” after fewer poor results than if you were decisive and got your clear 1st or 2nd choice.

On the bright side with AP he’s not going to be scared of a managerial graveyard since he doesn’t have many jobs left!

Peeps entitled to disagree, but @Hoopspur gotta admit I find it kinda weird here lol.
I kind of knew why I did it when I did it. Not sure I do now 🤣. I think it’s the endless stories of DL taking the cheaper option when it patently isn’t so. I don’t believe that the so called £15m was the reason we didn’t appoint Slot. I think we ended up paying over the odds for Porro and Richarlison and I certainly don’t think we didn’t shell out for Conte and Maureen. It is I feel a myth that is being perpetuated here and elsewhere as another stick.

I realise my views might appear slightly different to some (most) on here. I can assure you that I have no connection to the club other than having to fork out for my ST in the next 3 days.

I’m as frustrated as most and maybe your post received the brunt of it as it seemed to suggest cheapskate again.
