Let's all get on the slot train and get this done. Does have the X factor and seems like hes been there or there abouts in the Netherlands despite various rebuilds etc.

Will be nice to have a bit of positivity back at the club again

Dutch journo, Marcel van der Kraan has just said on SSN that he thinks it will be tough for Spurs to get him out of his contract because his release clause isnt active until next season. Apparently Leeds and Palace both tried back in February and 5m euros wasnt enough to do it.

Beyond that he gave him a GLOWING review, having followed Feyenord for 40 years and before that Ajax when Cruyff was manager. He mentioned Pep being a follower of Cruyff and said that Slot is the closest to that he's seen. Described him as a Pep style manager, super attacking, phenomenal coach that the players love and the Feyenord fans can't believe what they've seen over the time he's been head coach.

If Feyenoord refuse Slot his move, it's very likely he'll mentally check out.
Very dangerous for them. If he decide to move I can only see the clubs coming to an agreement. This can be his one chance to go Spurs, before he has to settle with something like Leeds or Watford.

Well this is going to suck now when we hire Glasner.

Context is important here. Man United paid <£2m for Ten Hag and the reported fee for Slot is ~£6m, so from the perspective of the Dutch/Eredivise it's a big price tag, if not a record for that division, but it shouldn't be a stumbling block from our side.

FWIW, I don't think that Feyenord would stand in his way for a move to Spurs. Palace and Leeds is another story entirely and they would arguably see themselves as bigger than those clubs.....at least to some extent.

I'm confident we'll get him and that interview on SSN has really got me hyped.

5M midseason when they're in a title race probably isn't enough. Different story in the summer.

Also that was during their very important season as they chased the title and Europa. Very different now

Just a guess but I’d say the £6m reported fee would be the compensation required to get him now with a release clause next year a bit lower.
Think Slot is on about €2m a year so us paying out his contract which I think has 2 years left, add on a bit extra for compensation would be roughly that number.
